CBSE Class 12 Physical Education 2026 Paper Live: Dates & Analysis

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is conducting the Class 12 Physical Education board examination 2026 today, part of the broader CBSE Class 10 and 12 board exams cycle. Students appeared for the Physical Education theory paper this morning under the scheduled timetable for the 2026 board examinations.

CBSE Class 12 Physical Education Exam Schedule 2026

According to the CBSE final date sheet, the Class 12 board examinations began on 17 February 2026 and will continue through 9 April 2026 for different subjects, with Physical Education scheduled on 18 February 2026. Students were instructed to report to the exam centre at least one hour before the exam start. The Physical Education exam was conducted today from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM with a duration of three hours.

Physical Education Paper Pattern & Marking Scheme

The Physical Education board paper was structured into five sections, covering a total of 37 questions. Of these:

• 18 questions were multiple-choice questions, carrying 1 mark each.
• The remaining questions included short-answer and long-answer types, aligned with the revised CBSE pattern for 2026.
• There was no negative marking, allowing students to attempt all questions without penalty.

This pattern reflects the board’s ongoing emphasis on balanced testing that covers theoretical knowledge as well as practical understanding of physical education concepts.

How Students Can Use Answer Keys?

CBSE does not officially publish an answer key for board exams. However, unofficial answer keys and solutions are expected to be released by coaching institutes and exam mentors shortly after the Physical Education exam concludes. These can help students:

• Estimate their performance soon after the exam
• Identify correct answers and calculate tentative scores
• Understand question trends and difficulty levels

Students are advised to use these resources carefully and cross-check answers based on the marking scheme before calculating expected marks.

Exam Rules & Key Instructions

During the CBSE board examinations, students must adhere to strict guidelines issued by the board, including:

• Carrying the admit card and valid ID for verification
• Reporting to the centre well before the reporting time
• Not bringing prohibited electronic devices into exam halls
• Following all invigilator instructions for exam conduct

Additionally, the board introduced an On-Screen Marking (OSM) system for Class 12 answer sheets in 2026, where evaluated answer books are digitally assessed to improve accuracy and reduce manual errors. This system does not affect the Physical Education written examination directly but streamlines post-exam evaluation processes.

What’s Next After the PE Paper?

Students who appeared in the Physical Education exam should continue preparing for their upcoming subjects as per the timetable. The next board exams include core subjects like Science, Mathematics, Languages and other electives scheduled in the coming weeks. Further updates — including unofficial answer keys, expert analysis, and performance reviews — will be shared as the board exam season progresses.
