CBSE Class 10 Two-Exam Format Webinar on 20 November 2025 Announced

CBSE Class 10 Two-Exam Format has raised many questions among students, parents, and schools ahead of the 2026 board exams. To address these concerns, the Central Board of Secondary Education will conduct a webinar on 20 November 2025. The session will be streamed live on the official YouTube channel of CBSE and will guide all stakeholders about the procedures and modalities of the revised system.

The board has confirmed that the webinar will help students, teachers, and parents understand the structure of the two-board examination model introduced under the National Education Policy 2020. The aim is to ensure that the new process is implemented smoothly and fairly across all CBSE schools.

CBSE to Explain New Two-Session Board Exam System

CBSE shared an official announcement stating that the board is organising a webinar to explain the conduct of two board examinations for Class 10. The update was posted through the official communication channels on X. The session intends to sensitise schools, teachers, and officials about the revised guidelines for the upcoming academic cycle.

To offer a clear understanding, here is a brief introduction to what the two-exam format means for Class ten students. This system provides two opportunities within the same academic year and ensures that the better score is reflected on the final marksheet.

Dual Board Examination Structure for Class 10

  • First Exam: February–March (mandatory)
  • Second Exam: May (optional for improvement)
  • Result Dates: April for the first session and June for the second session

Students will be allowed to improve their performance in up to three subjects, including Science, Mathematics, Social Science, and Languages. This system replaces the old supplementary model and allows a full second attempt with the same syllabus and equal weightage in the same academic year.

Early Release of 2026 Datesheet by CBSE

The board adopted an early announcement strategy for the 2026 Class 10 and Class 12 board exams. CBSE released the first datesheet in October 2025, giving students an extended preparation period. A month later, the finalised timetable was published for both classes.

Both Class ten and Class twelve board exams will start on 17 February 2026. This early release is expected to reduce uncertainty for students and help them plan revision schedules effectively.

Coordination With NTA for JEE Main 2026

CBSE has coordinated with the National Testing Agency to avoid any overlap between the Class twelve board exams and JEE Main 2026. Students will be required to provide their Class 11 registration numbers during the JEE Main application process to ensure smooth data verification.

The new two-exam system marks a major shift in the assessment structure for Class 10 students. The upcoming webinar on 20 November 2025 is expected to clarify all remaining doubts and prepare schools for seamless implementation of the new model.
