UP Board exams 2026 continue on February 23 with the Class 10 English and Class 12 Mathematics & Biology papers. The exams are being held in two shifts with strict guidelines. Students must follow exam-day protocols and arrive early at centres.
The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) is conducting the UP Board Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations 2026 today, February 23, 2026, across over 8,000 examination centres in Uttar Pradesh. The Class 10 English paper was held in the morning session, followed by Class 12 Mathematics and Biology in the second session. More than 52.3 lakh students are registered for this year’s High School and Intermediate exams.
UP Board 2026 Timings and Shift Schedule
As per the official timetable, the examinations are being conducted in two shifts:
- Morning Shift: 8:30 AM to 11:45 AM – Class 10 English
- Afternoon Shift: 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM – Class 12 Mathematics and Biology
Students were advised to reach exam centres at least 45 minutes before reporting time to complete verification and seating. Entry is strictly contingent on carrying a printed UPMSP admit card and a valid school ID
Paper Analysis & Preparatory Tips
Although official answer keys are not released by the board during the exams, provisional insights from subject specialists and early feedback indicate:
- Class 10 English: Questions remained largely textbook-aligned with a focus on grammar, unseen passages, letter writing, and literature comprehension. Many students found the paper manageable within the 3 hr 15 min duration.
- Class 12 Mathematics & Biology: Early reactions describe a mix of standard syllabus questions and application-based problems. Students are advised to attempt easy/short questions first and review calculations and diagrams carefully in the final 15 minutes, which is allotted as additional reading time before writing begins.
Exam-Day Guidelines for Candidates
UPMSP has reiterated a list of instructions to ensure smooth conduct:
- Carry the original admit card and school ID; candidates without these will be denied entry.
- Use only blue or black ballpoint pens; other instruments are not permitted.
- Electronic devices such as mobile phones, calculators, smartwatches, or Bluetooth gadgets are strictly banned; possession may lead to disqualification.
- Students get 15 minutes of reading time before the writing period starts; this should be used to strategise answers.
What’s Next After Today?
UP Board examinations for both classes are scheduled to continue until March 12, 2026, covering various subjects across multiple shifts. The official UPMSP date sheet 2026 confirms that the board exam series started on February 18 and includes a mix of compulsory, elective, and vocational subjects.
