CBSE Class 10 Science Exam 2026 guidelines have been officially released through a new circular issued on 24 February 2026. The Board has introduced clear instructions on exam structure and answer writing to ensure accurate evaluation. Students appearing for the Science paper are advised to carefully follow the section-wise format to avoid loss of marks.
CBSE Class 10 Science Exam 2026 Structure Explained
The Central Board of Secondary Education has divided the Class 10 Science question paper into three distinct sections for systematic assessment. The sections are designed subject-wise as follows:
- Section A – Biology
- Section B – Chemistry
- Section C – Physics
Students are allowed to attempt the sections in any order, such as A-B-C, B-C-A, or C-A-B. However, answers must be written only in the space allotted to the respective section.
Answer Writing Instructions for CBSE Class 10 Science Exam 2026
CBSE has strictly instructed candidates to maintain section-wise discipline while writing answers. The Board has clarified that answers written in the wrong section will not be evaluated under any circumstances. Students are advised to clearly identify each answer and avoid overlapping responses between sections.
Key Instructions Issued by CBSE
The Board has released the following important instructions to be followed during the examination. Students must write answers only in the designated section provided for each subject. If an answer meant for one section is written in another section, it will not be checked. CBSE has also instructed students to leave adequate space between two answers to maintain clarity. Writing answers in a disorganised manner should be avoided to prevent confusion during evaluation. Candidates are further advised to follow the sequence of questions and present answers neatly within the allotted space.
Expert Advice for Students Appearing in CBSE Class 10 Science Exam 2026
Education experts have advised students to remain calm and attempt the paper systematically. VK Mishra, Principal of Diwan Public School, Meerut, emphasised that understanding instructions beforehand can help students avoid unnecessary mistakes during the exam. Parents and students have been encouraged to thoroughly read the guidelines before the examination day to ensure smooth performance.
Importance of Following CBSE Guidelines
CBSE has reiterated that these guidelines are aimed at improving fairness and accuracy in evaluation. Students who strictly follow the section-wise answer writing format are less likely to lose marks due to technical errors.
