The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued an important advisory to teachers engaged in the evaluation of Class 10 and Class 12 board exam answer sheets for the 2026 examination cycle.CBSE has cautioned evaluators against sharing confidential or misleading information about the marking process on social media and other public platforms, emphasising that such exchanges can create confusion among students, parents and other stakeholders.
Advisory Issued as CBSE Evaluation Progresses
According to the notice, the board has noticed instances where evaluators have posted comments, opinions and personal experiences about the board evaluation process online. CBSE stressed that the evaluation process is a confidential activity and should not be discussed publicly until results are officially announced. The board warned that any attempt to spread misinformation or misrepresent the evaluation could undermine the credibility of the board exam system. The advisory was issued while the evaluation of answer sheets for the 2026 board exams is underway, ahead of the final result preparation.
CBSE Measures to Uphold Professional Conduct
CBSE’s advisory underscores the importance of professional standards and discretion during the marking process:
- Teachers and evaluators are specifically asked not to post evaluation‑related content or personal views about the evaluation work in public forums.
- The board emphasised that confidentiality must be maintained to preserve the integrity and fairness of the evaluation system.
- Posts that spread rumours or inaccurate information may be considered violations of professional conduct under CBSE guidelines.
These steps aim to ensure that the marking process remains free from external influence and speculation, and that the results reflect a fair assessment of students’ performance.
Why the CBSE Advisory Matters?
Sharing evaluation details or opinions about board exam marking before official results are declared can lead to misunderstandings, anxiety and misinformation among students and parents. CBSE’s emphasis on confidentiality reflects its commitment to preserving trust and transparency in board examinations. The board has urged all evaluators to conduct their responsibilities with the highest degree of integrity and to rely on official communications for updates about the evaluation process or results.
