The CBSE 12th Result 2026 Re-Evaluation Window Opens Tomorrow, Apply for Answer Sheet Review process has officially been announced by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The board will begin accepting applications from May 19, 2026, allowing students to review their evaluated answer sheets and apply for verification or re-evaluation if they are not satisfied with their marks. The process aims to improve transparency in marking under the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system.
CBSE Class 12 Result 2026 Re-Evaluation Process and Key Dates
The CBSE has introduced a structured post-result mechanism for students seeking clarification or correction in their scores. This process will be conducted in multiple stages to ensure accuracy and fairness in evaluation. Students must first request a scanned copy of their answer sheets before applying for further steps like verification or re-evaluation. Key dates for CBSE Class 12 Re-evaluation 2026:
- Application for scanned answer sheet: From May 19, 2026
- Start of verification and re-evaluation applications: From May 22, 2026
- Access to evaluated answer sheets: Between May 26 and May 29, 2026
The board has clarified that only applications submitted within the official timeline will be considered.
CBSE 12th Answer Sheet Verification and Re-evaluation Steps 2026
CBSE has implemented a step-by-step process to ensure that students can carefully review their answer scripts before requesting corrections. Students must first download and check their scanned answer sheets using the official CBSE portal such as cbse.gov.in or the designated revaluation portal. After reviewing the answer script, students can:
- Apply for mark verification if they suspect totaling or evaluation errors
- Request re-evaluation of specific answers if discrepancies are found
- Submit question-wise review requests with supporting concerns
The board has stated that a subject expert committee will examine all requests and provide final decisions based on marking schemes and evaluation guidelines.
CBSE Re-Evaluation Fees 2026 and Refund Policy
CBSE has also revised the fee structure for the 2026 re-evaluation process to make it more student-friendly. The updated fee structure includes:
- ₹100 for obtaining scanned answer sheets
- ₹100 for mark verification per subject
- ₹25 per question for re-checking
In addition, CBSE has introduced a refund policy stating that if a student’s marks increase after re-evaluation, the full fee paid for the process will be refunded. This move aims to ensure greater trust and transparency in the evaluation system.
CBSE 12th Result 2026 Transparency Measures and OSM System Impact
The re-evaluation process is being conducted under the newly implemented On-Screen Marking (OSM) system, which digitally evaluates answer scripts. CBSE has stated that the system reduces human errors such as totaling mistakes and ensures more consistent marking. Despite this, several students have raised concerns about unexpected variations in scores, leading to increased demand for rechecking and review. The board has responded by strengthening post-result grievance redressal mechanisms.
CBSE Class 12 Re-evaluation 2026 Official Guidelines and Student Advisory
CBSE has advised students to carefully review their scanned answer sheets before submitting any re-evaluation request. Applications submitted without proper review or beyond deadlines will not be accepted.
Students are encouraged to use the official CBSE portal only for all application-related activities and avoid third-party platforms. The board will communicate final results after expert review, and the updated marks (if any changes occur) will be considered final. The CBSE Class 12 Re-evaluation 2026 process reflects the board’s effort to maintain fairness, transparency, and accuracy in the examination system while providing students with an opportunity to address marking concerns effectively.
