BITSAT 2026 Session 2 and WBJEE 2026 exams are scheduled on the same day, 24 May 2026. The overlap has created concern among engineering aspirants who were planning to appear for both entrance examinations.
The BITSAT 2026 Session 2 and WBJEE 2026 entrance examinations are scheduled on the same date, creating a major scheduling conflict for engineering aspirants. Both exams are currently planned for 24 May 2026, which means candidates interested in appearing for both tests may have to choose only one. The overlap has led to concerns among students across the country. Many aspirants were planning to attempt both examinations to increase their chances of securing admission to top engineering institutions.
BITSAT 2026 and WBJEE 2026 Exam Dates
The exam schedules released by the respective authorities show that both engineering entrance tests fall within the same timeframe. This conflict affects candidates who were preparing for multiple admission opportunities. The key details of the examination schedule are listed below.
Since WBJEE is scheduled only on 24 May, students appearing for this examination will not be able to attend BITSAT on the same day if their slot overlaps.
Why the Exam Clash Is a Concern for Students?
Both entrance examinations serve as important gateways for engineering admissions in India. As a result, many students apply for both tests to maximise their chances of admission. WBJEE provides admission to engineering colleges across West Bengal, including several government and private institutes. Meanwhile, BITSAT is conducted for admission to the engineering programmes offered by BITS campuses located in Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad. The scheduling conflict may force candidates to prioritise one exam over the other, which could limit their admission opportunities.
Students Request Authorities to Revise Exam Schedule
The student community and academic institutions have raised concerns regarding the exam clash. Aspirants are now hoping that the respective authorities will reconsider the exam schedule and introduce adjustments. Several students have requested:
- Rescheduling of the BITSAT Session 2 starting date
- A possible change in the WBJEE 2026 exam date
- Coordination between the exam authorities to avoid overlap
A revision of the exam timetable would allow candidates to participate in both entrance tests without compromising their admission prospects.
Engineering Aspirants Await Official Announcement
As of now, no official announcement regarding a schedule revision has been released by the examination authorities. Students continue to monitor updates from the respective exam boards for any changes to the examination calendar. If the dates remain unchanged, candidates planning to appear for both BITSAT 2026 and WBJEE 2026 may have to carefully evaluate their preferences before choosing which examination to attend.
