BITSAT 2026 Session 2 examination has started from May 25, 2026, and the initial student reactions indicate that the overall paper difficulty ranged from moderate to difficult across shifts. Mathematics remained the lengthiest and toughest section, while English and Logical Reasoning continued to be the easiest and most scoring parts of the examination.
BITSAT 2026 Session 2 Exam Analysis has been released after the completion of the initial shifts conducted between May 25 and May 27, 2026. The Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test is being held in Computer-Based Test mode for admission to engineering and science programmes offered by BITS Pilani campuses.
According to the first round of student feedback and expert analysis, the overall paper difficulty level ranged from moderate to moderately difficult across different shifts. Candidates reported that the examination followed a balanced pattern, although the Mathematics section remained time-consuming and comparatively tougher than other subjects. The BITSAT Session 2 examination is being conducted in two shifts daily from 9 AM to 12 PM and 2 PM to 5 PM. Experts noted that the paper maintained a similar trend to Session 1, with slight variations in difficulty depending on the shift.
BITSAT 2026 Session 2 Shift-Wise Difficulty Level
The Session 2 examination began on May 25, and initial reports suggest varying levels of difficulty between morning and afternoon shifts. Candidates found some shifts relatively balanced, while others included lengthy and tricky Mathematics questions. Education experts stated that the examination pattern remained largely consistent with previous years, particularly in terms of question distribution and section weightage.
BITSAT 2026 Session 2 Shift Analysis
Students who appeared in the examination stated that the paper tested speed, accuracy, and time management simultaneously. Several aspirants mentioned that attempting bonus questions required careful planning due to the lengthy Mathematics section.
BITSAT 2026 Mathematics Section Review
The Mathematics section emerged as the most difficult and lengthy portion of the examination in almost all shifts conducted so far. Many students reported that numerical calculations consumed significant time, making it difficult to attempt all questions comfortably.
Questions were asked from topics such as Calculus, Probability, Coordinate Geometry, Differential Equations, Vectors, Algebra, and Trigonometry. Experts observed that Mathematics carried the highest weightage and played a decisive role in determining overall scores. Some candidates also mentioned that while individual questions were not extremely difficult conceptually, solving them within the limited examination time proved challenging. Questions from Calculus and Coordinate Geometry reportedly dominated multiple shifts.
BITSAT 2026 Physics Section Analysis
The Physics section was rated moderate by most candidates. Questions included a mix of formula-based numerical problems and theoretical concepts from both Class 11 and Class 12 syllabi. Students observed that many questions were direct and could be solved quickly with strong conceptual clarity. Topics such as Current Electricity, Electrostatics, Modern Physics, Thermodynamics, Optics, Electromagnetism, Laws of Motion, and Rotational Motion received notable weightage.
Experts also noted that some shifts included tricky conceptual questions that required deeper understanding rather than straightforward formula application. Despite this, Physics was generally considered manageable compared to Mathematics.
BITSAT 2026 Chemistry Section Difficulty Level
The Chemistry section was considered the easiest and most scoring part by many students. A majority of the questions were based on NCERT concepts, especially from Physical Chemistry and Inorganic Chemistry. Candidates reported that direct theory-based questions and factual concepts dominated several shifts. Organic Chemistry carried relatively lower weightage in some papers, while Physical Chemistry numericals appeared frequently.
Some students also noticed questions from deleted syllabus topics and unexpected theoretical areas. However, candidates with strong NCERT preparation found the section relatively easier compared to Physics and Mathematics.
English Proficiency and Logical Reasoning Review
The English Proficiency and Logical Reasoning section remained the easiest and quickest part of the paper according to student reactions. Most candidates found this section scoring and less time-consuming. Questions were primarily based on grammar, vocabulary, sentence correction, analogy, reasoning patterns, and comprehension-based logic. Candidates who practiced previous-year papers and mock tests reportedly managed this section comfortably.
Experts stated that strong performance in English and Logical Reasoning could help candidates compensate for difficult Mathematics questions and improve overall scores significantly
BITSAT 2026 Good Attempts and Expected Score Range
Based on early student feedback and expert analysis, the expected good attempt range for BITSAT Session 2 is likely to vary according to shift difficulty.
For moderate papers, candidates attempting around 95 to 110 questions accurately may expect a competitive score. However, the actual cutoff and admission trends will depend on overall student performance, seat availability, and counselling data after both sessions conclude. Experts noted that the BITSAT examination does not use cross-session normalisation, meaning final scores depend entirely on actual marks obtained in the examination.
BITSAT Session 2 Compared to Session 1
Students and experts observed that BITSAT 2026 Session 2 appears broadly similar to Session 1 in terms of overall difficulty level. However, slight variations were noticed in shift-wise paper patterns and Mathematics complexity.
Session 1, conducted earlier in April, was also largely rated moderate, with Mathematics being the toughest section and English being the easiest. The Session 2 paper followed a similar trend, although some afternoon shifts were considered slightly tougher. Previous analysis reports also indicated that BITSAT papers in recent years have focused heavily on speed and question selection strategy rather than extremely advanced conceptual difficulty.
BITSAT 2026 Exam Pattern and Admission Process
BITSAT 2026 is being conducted for admission to undergraduate engineering, pharmacy, and science programmes offered by BITS Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad campuses. The examination is held in online mode with objective-type questions across Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, English Proficiency, and Logical Reasoning.
Candidates are awarded marks for correct answers, while negative marking applies for incorrect responses. Students attempting all standard questions also receive the option to answer bonus questions for additional scoring opportunities. The official result and scorecards are expected to be released after the completion of both examination sessions. Candidates qualifying the examination will later participate in the BITS counselling and seat allotment process based on merit ranks and programme preferences.
