The BITSAT 2026 Session 2 examination conducted from May 25 to May 27, 2026 witnessed a moderate-to-difficult difficulty level across multiple shifts. Student reactions and expert reviews indicate that the Mathematics section remained the toughest and most time-consuming part of the paper.

BITSAT 2026 Session 2 Analysis: Maths Tough, Chemistry Easy

The BITSAT 2026 Session 2 examination has concluded for candidates appearing between May 25 and May 27, 2026. Conducted by the Birla Institute of Technology and Science in computer-based mode, the examination was held in two daily shifts across various centres in India, Nepal, and Dubai.

According to student feedback and expert analysis, the overall paper level ranged from moderate to difficult across different shifts. While some shifts were manageable for students with strong JEE Main and JEE Advanced preparation, several aspirants struggled with lengthy calculations and time pressure, especially in Mathematics. The Session 2 examination followed the standard BITSAT format with 130 multiple-choice questions divided among Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, and English Proficiency with Logical Reasoning. Candidates also had the option to attempt bonus questions after completing all mandatory questions

BITSAT 2026 Session 2 Overall Difficulty Level

The overall difficulty level of BITSAT 2026 Session 2 was reported as moderate to tough across most shifts. Students stated that the paper required strong conceptual understanding and fast calculation speed. Mathematics consistently remained the most difficult and time-consuming section across all shifts. Chemistry, on the other hand, was largely NCERT-based and comparatively scoring. Physics contained conceptual and lengthy numerical questions that increased overall pressure during the examination.

Many candidates also highlighted that effective time management played a decisive role in achieving higher scores. Students with prior JEE-level preparation reportedly found several sections manageable but still faced challenges in lengthy calculations.

BITSAT 2026 Mathematics Section Analysis

The Mathematics section emerged as the toughest part of the examination in nearly all shifts. Students described the section as highly calculation-intensive and lengthy. Several aspirants stated that completing Mathematics within the available time was difficult due to multi-step problem solving and conceptual depth. Major topics repeatedly asked included:

  • Calculus
  • Differential Equations
  • Vector and 3D Geometry
  • Matrices and Determinants
  • Coordinate Geometry
  • Probability and Statistics
  • Linear Programming

Students with strong conceptual clarity and regular practice in advanced-level Mathematics reportedly performed better in this section.

BITSAT 2026 Physics Section Review

Physics in Session 2 was mostly moderate but lengthy in several shifts. Candidates reported that the section required careful reading of questions and strong formula application skills. The paper included conceptual and numerical-based problems from both Class 11 and Class 12 syllabi. Major topics included:

  • Electrostatics
  • Current Electricity
  • Magnetism
  • Ray Optics
  • Modern Physics
  • Alternating Current
  • Semiconductors
  • Kinematics

Many students observed that although the questions were not exceptionally difficult individually, the section consumed significant time because of lengthy calculations and statement-based questions

Chemistry Emerged as the Most Scoring Section

The Chemistry section was widely considered the easiest and most scoring section across almost all shifts. Most questions were directly based on NCERT concepts and standard reactions. Important topics asked included:

  • Organic Chemistry reactions
  • Coordination Compounds
  • Physical Chemistry numericals
  • Chemical Bonding
  • Inorganic Chemistry concepts
  • Electrochemistry

Students reported that strong NCERT preparation significantly helped in securing quick marks in Chemistry. Some candidates also noted that the section provided balance against the tougher Mathematics portion.

English Proficiency and Logical Reasoning Analysis

The English and Logical Reasoning section remained the easiest part of the examination for most candidates. Students generally completed this section quickly with minimal difficulty. The section included vocabulary-based questions, grammar concepts, reading comprehension, and logical puzzles. Candidates described it as highly scoring and helpful for improving overall attemptsExperts suggested that students who prepared this section seriously gained a significant advantage in overall scores because of its comparatively lower difficulty level.

BITSAT 2026 Shift-Wise Analysis Overview

The May 25 Shift 1 examination was considered moderate, though Mathematics and Physics were on the tougher side. Shift 2 on the same day was reported to be comparatively more difficult and confusing for many students. The May 26 Shift 1 examination was rated moderate, with Physics being lengthy and Mathematics close to JEE Main difficulty level. Chemistry again remained manageable and scoring

May 26 Shift 2 was reported as moderate to difficult, particularly because of lengthy Mathematics questions and increased calculation pressure. Students identified this shift as more time-consuming than several previous shifts. Early reactions from May 27 Shift 1 indicate an overall moderate paper with manageable questions but some lengthy Physics numericals.

Expected Good Attempts and Score Trends

Experts believe that the number of good attempts varied significantly depending on the shift difficulty level. Easier shifts required higher attempts for competitive scores, while tougher shifts may lead to slightly lower cutoff trends. According to preliminary analysis:

These estimates remain unofficial and may change depending on counselling trends, seat availability, and final result statistics.

BITSAT 2026 Session 2 Compared With Session 1

Experts and students observed that Session 2 difficulty was broadly comparable to Session 1. Mathematics remained the toughest section in both sessions, while Chemistry continued to be the most scoring.

Shift-wise variations were more noticeable than differences between the two sessions. Some candidates felt that a few Session 2 shifts were slightly tougher because of increased calculation intensity and time pressure.

Important Strategy Lessons From BITSAT 2026

The analysis of BITSAT 2026 Session 2 highlights the importance of balanced preparation across all subjects. Students with strong speed, accuracy, and conceptual clarity had a clear advantage during the examination. Experts recommended the following strategy points for future aspirants:

  • Focus heavily on time management
  • Practice lengthy Mathematics problems regularly
  • Strengthen NCERT Chemistry preparation
  • Improve calculation speed in Physics
  • Use English and Logical Reasoning as scoring sections
  • Attempt mock tests in real exam conditions

The examination once again demonstrated that BITSAT rewards students who combine conceptual understanding with quick problem-solving ability under strict time limits.
