The increase reflects higher recorded admissions through the WBJEE counselling system in 2026. The figures relate to undergraduate engineering and pharmacy courses and should not be interpreted as the total number of candidates who appeared for the entrance examination.

WBJEE Counselling 2026 Centralised and Decentralised Admissions

The reported figures include admissions through centralised counselling and decentralised counselling. These processes contribute to the overall admission count for undergraduate engineering and pharmacy programmes in West Bengal.

The breakdown of WBJEE counselling admissions for 2026 is provided below.

The data also records 2,156 students who had already secured admission through centralised WBJEE counselling and later received upgraded seats through decentralised counselling. These students are included in the reported decentralised admission figure.

Candidates should note this detail when interpreting the admission statistics, as the reported figures describe counselling admissions and upgrades rather than necessarily representing an equal number of entirely new candidates.
