The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) released the final results of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025, with Astha Jain securing an impressive All India Rank 9 among the top 10 candidates nationally. The UPSC CSE is one of India’s most competitive examinations, recruiting candidates for prestigious central services such as the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and Indian Police Service (IPS). A total of 958 candidates have been recommended for appointment in the merit list this year.
Remarkable Achievement From Humble Beginnings
Astha Jain hails from Shamli district in Uttar Pradesh, where her father runs a small grocery shop and her mother is a homemaker. Coming from a modest background, she has become a source of inspiration for aspiring civil servants A graduate from University of Delhi, she previously cleared the Civil Services Examination in earlier attempts, securing AIR 131 and AIR 186 in previous years and joining the Indian Police Service (IPS). For the 2025 cycle, she took leave from her IPS training to prepare further and significantly improve her rank, achieving AIR 9 this year.
