The All India Bar Examination 21 (AIBE 21) is scheduled to be conducted on 7 June 2026, with the Bar Council of India issuing key instructions ahead of the test. Candidates appearing for the offline bar exam must follow the official guidelines to ensure smooth entry and compliance on the exam day.
AIBE 21 Exam Date and Application Timeline
The AIBE 21 exam will be held in offline mode (pen-and-paper) across multiple cities throughout India on 7 June 2026. Aspirants could register for the examination until 30 April 2026, with application corrections accepted from 1 May to 3 May 2026. Hall tickets for the exam were issued on 22 May 2026 on official portals such as barcouncilofindia.org and allindiabarexamination.com.
Mandatory Documents and Reporting Time
Candidates must carry the printed AIBE 21 admit card along with a valid government-issued photo identity proof such as an Aadhaar card, passport, or voter ID. Without these documents, candidates will not be permitted entry into the examination centre. Examinees are advised to report at their respective centres by 11:30 AM, and entry will not be allowed after 1:15 PM.
Items Allowed and Prohibited at the Exam Centre
The BCI has clarified strict rules regarding what can and cannot be taken inside the examination hall:

Support for PwD Candidates
The Bar Council’s guidelines include provisions for candidates with disabilities. Those with more than 40 per cent disability will be granted 20 additional minutes per hour during the exam. Candidates with certain physical impairments can avail the assistance of a scribe, provided they submit the necessary medical documents.
Provisional Candidature and Disqualification Rules
The BCI has noted that candidature for AIBE 21 is provisional. If a candidate is later found ineligible or involved in malpractice, their application may be cancelled, and they could be barred from future AIBE examinations.
Next Steps After the Exam
Upon completing the AIBE 21 exam, candidates will await the provisional answer key, which is typically released shortly after the test to allow score estimation. The final results and issuance of the Certificate of Practice (CoP) will follow in the coming weeks, enabling successful candidates to practise law in Indian courts
