WBCHSE HS Exam 2026 Guidelines: Admit Card, Reporting Time & Rules

The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has released comprehensive guidelines for the Higher Secondary (Uccha Madhyamik) Exam 2026. These instructions cover Semester-IV, Semester-III Supplementary, and the Old Annual System exams, scheduled from February 12 to February 27, 2026. Students must carefully follow these rules to ensure smooth conduct of the examinations and avoid last-minute issues. The WBCHSE guidelines include instructions for exam centres, admit cards, invigilators, examinees, reporting time, opening of question packets, seating arrangements, and handling of OMR sheets. Compliance with these instructions is mandatory for all candidates.

WBCHSE Admit Card 2026 Instructions

For Semester-IV and Semester-III Supplementary exams, admit cards will be issued online. Heads of institutions can download and print the admit cards using login credentials from the WBCHSE portal. For the Higher Secondary Examination 2026 under the Old System, admit cards will be issued offline from distribution camps on January 28, 2026. Examinees must carry the valid admit card countersigned by the Head of the Institution along with their registration certificate and blue or black ballpoint pens.

Reporting Time and Exam Procedure

Students must strictly adhere to the reporting times:

  • Semester-IV and Old System exams: Report by 9:00 am
  • Semester-III Supplementary exam: Report by 12:30 pm

The sealed question packets will be opened inside the examination hall at 9:55 am for the morning session and 12:55 pm for the second session. Distribution of question papers will start at 10:00 am and 1:00 pm, respectively.

Items Allowed and Prohibited Inside Exam Hall

WBCHSE has specified a list of allowed and prohibited items to maintain exam integrity:

  • Prohibited: Mobile phones, smart watches, Bluetooth devices, electronic gadgets, bags, calculators, written or printed material.
  • Allowed: Analogue watches, transparent water bottles, essential stationery in a transparent pouch.

Additionally, candidates must use only blue or black ballpoint pens for filling OMR sheets. Gel pens or fountain pens are strictly prohibited. Students are advised to follow these guidelines carefully to avoid disqualification and ensure a smooth examination process.
