WBBSE Madhyamik Exam 2027 May Postponed to March: Check Proposed Dates

The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has reportedly sent a proposal to the West Bengal School Education Department to postpone the Madhyamik Exam 2027 from February to March. The proposal suggests conducting the West Bengal Class 10 board examinations between March 2 and March 16, 2027, instead of the previously announced February 15–25 schedule.

The proposed change is linked to census-related duties expected to involve a large number of schoolteachers during the examination period. However, the revised Madhyamik Exam Date 2027 has not been officially confirmed. Students should continue preparing according to the existing timetable until the state government approves the proposal and WBBSE publishes an official notification.

Why May the Madhyamik Exam 2027 Be Postponed?

The proposed postponement is intended to avoid a clash between the Madhyamik examinations and census duties. According to recent reports, the census fieldwork schedule may require many government schoolteachers to participate in data collection and related activities during February 2027.

Conducting board examinations during the same period could create difficulties in arranging sufficient invigilators and other examination personnel at test centres. To address these concerns, WBBSE has reportedly requested approval for a revised examination schedule from the state School Education Department. The proposal is still awaiting final approval. Therefore, students should not consider the suggested March dates as confirmed examination dates.

Madhyamik Exam 2027 Proposed Date Sheet

The reported revised schedule suggests that the West Bengal Madhyamik Pariksha 2027 could begin on March 2 and conclude on March 16. The following dates are proposed and have not been confirmed through a final revised timetable.

The proposed timetable also indicates an examination start time of 10:45 AM, with the first 15 minutes reserved for reading the question paper. The writing time would end at 2 PM for the regular papers covered by the proposal. Students must verify these details against the final notification before making examination plans.

Existing Madhyamik Exam Date 2027 Schedule

WBBSE had previously announced that the West Bengal Madhyamik Exam 2027 would be held from February 15 to February 25, 2027. The existing timetable lists the First Language examination on February 15, followed by Second Language on February 16, History on February 18 and Geography on February 19.

Mathematics was scheduled for February 22, Physical Science for February 23, Life Science for February 24 and Optional Elective Subjects for February 25. Until the proposed revision receives formal approval, this remains the previously announced schedule. Students can check the board's official website for notifications and examination-related updates.
