The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has announced that the Madhyamik Class 10 board exams 2026 will begin on February 2, 2026. The examinations will conclude on February 12, 2026.
As per the official schedule, the exams will be conducted in a single shift each day. The timing will be from 10:45 am to 2:00 pm. Students will get the first 15 minutes only to read the question paper before writing starts. Candidates are advised to reach their allotted exam centres early to complete all formalities smoothly.
WB Madhyamik Exam 2026 Guidelines and Admit Card Rules
Students appearing for the Madhyamik exams must strictly follow the instructions issued by WBBSE. Entry will not be allowed without the required documents. The following items are mandatory on exam day:
- Original Madhyamik 2026 Admit Card (Hall Ticket)
- Valid school ID card or photo ID as mentioned on the admit card
Permitted stationery includes:
- Blue or black ball pens
- HB pencils, erasers, sharpener
- Geometry box where required
A face mask and hand sanitiser may also be carried if directed by the Board.
Prohibited Items in Madhyamik Exam Hall 2026
WBBSE has banned several items inside the examination hall. These include:
- Mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, Bluetooth devices
- Tablets or any electronic gadgets
- Notes, books, printed or written papers
- Packed food, unless permitted for medical reasons
- Unauthorised tools or metallic objects
Any unfair means may lead to cancellation of candidature.

The official subject-wise schedule for Madhyamik Pariksha 2026 is as follows:
- February 2, 2026 – First Languages
- February 3, 2026 – Second Languages
- February 6, 2026 – History
- February 7, 2026 – Geography
- February 9, 2026 – Mathematics
- February 10, 2026 – Physical Science
- February 11, 2026 – Life Science
- February 12, 2026 – Optional Elective Subjects
The Board has said that dates for Physical Education, Work Education, vocational subjects, and practicals will be announced separately. Students should verify all admit card details early and plan travel time carefully, as late entry is usually not permitted once the exam begins.
