The UGC NET June 2026 re-examination begins today, September 9, for candidates appearing in the English and Commerce papers. The Sociology paper will be conducted on September 10. The National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting the re-examination after an expert committee identified multiple factual, typographical, translation and language-related errors, along with repetition of several questions in the affected papers.

The UGC NET June 2026 re-exam is being conducted only for the three affected subjects. Candidates appearing for the re-test are required to carry their admit card and other prescribed documents and report at their allotted examination centres well before the examination begins. NTA has also advised candidates in Delhi to plan their travel in advance because of possible traffic restrictions linked to the BRICS Summit.

UGC NET June 2026 Re-Exam Schedule

The NTA has announced separate dates and shifts for the three UGC NET subjects being re-conducted. English and Commerce will be held on September 9, while Sociology will be conducted on September 10. The complete schedule is given below.

UGC NET Re-Exam Reporting Time 2026

NTA guidelines state that candidates should report at the examination centre two hours before the commencement of the examination. This additional time is required for frisking, registration and other examination-related formalities. The registration desk will close 30 minutes before the examination begins.

Accordingly, candidates appearing for the morning shift should reach the examination centre at around 7 AM, while Commerce candidates appearing in the second shift should reach at around 1 PM. However, candidates must give priority to the reporting time printed on their individual admit cards.

Candidates should avoid reaching the centre at the last minute as delays during security checks or registration could create difficulties in entering the examination hall.

UGC NET 2026 Re-Exam Admit Card

The UGC NET June 2026 re-exam admit card was released by NTA ahead of the September 9 and 10 examinations. Candidates can access their hall tickets through the official UGC NET website using their login credentials.

Candidates should carefully verify the details mentioned on the admit card, including their name, examination date, shift, reporting time and examination centre address. Any discrepancy should be brought to the attention of NTA immediately.

• Valid original photo identity proof
• Passport-size photographs, wherever required
• PwD/PwBD certificate, if applicable
• Any other document specifically mentioned on the admit card or undertaking

UGC NET Exam Day Guidelines 2026

Candidates should follow all instructions issued by NTA and the examination-centre authorities. Electronic devices such as mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, Bluetooth devices and other gadgets should not be carried to the examination centre.

Candidates must also follow the instructions provided during frisking and identity verification. Since this is a re-examination for three specific subjects, candidates should check the subject displayed on the allotted computer before beginning the test. If the question paper displayed on the computer does not correspond to the candidate's opted subject, the issue should immediately be reported to the invigilator.
