The Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) has issued a key update for job aspirants in the state, making it mandatory for all candidates registered in its One Time Registration (OTR) system to update and verify their details before applying for upcoming recruitment notifications. This step is aimed at standardising and verifying candidate data ahead of new job vacancies that the commission plans to announce soon.
What Is OTR and Why Update It?
The OTR (One Time Registration) is a candidate profile that contains personal, educational, and category information used by TGPSC as the primary data source for all recruitment processes. TGPSC conducts various government job recruitments for Group I, II, III, and IV posts in Telangana, and the OTR helps streamline applications. Due to recent changes such as revised Scheduled Caste categorisation, additional educational qualifications, and repeated candidate requests for corrections, the Commission has emphasised the need to update and validate OTR data before accepting any new applications.
Extended Deadline for OTR Update
The OTR update window opened on 19 January 2026 and was initially scheduled to close on 09 February 2026. However, TGPSC has extended the deadline to 25 February 2026 to give aspirants sufficient time to review and correct their details. Candidates must log in to the official TGPSC portal at tgpsc.gov.in and complete the OTR update and verification process before the deadline to remain eligible for forthcoming recruitments.
What Candidates Must Update
During the OTR update process, candidates should verify and, if necessary, update:
- Personal information such as name, date of birth, gender, and address
- Educational qualifications and additional credentials
- Category details including EWS and Non‑Creamy Layer status
- Contact details such as mobile number and email IDCandidates may need to upload supporting certificates and a recent colour passport‑size photograph as required.
While most fields are non‑editable, certain sections remain available for correction to ensure that the data used for recruitment is accurate.
Impact of Not Updating OTR
TGPSC has warned that candidates who fail to update and verify their OTR information by 25 February 2026 will not be eligible to apply for future recruitment notifications, even if they meet the eligibility criteria for those posts. This decision underscores the commission’s intent to maintain accurate and streamlined candidate records, which will act as the foundation for all future applications, results, and selection processes conducted by TGPSC. Candidates are advised to visit the official TGPSC website (tgpsc.gov.in) soon and complete the mandatory OTR update ahead of new job announcements.
