The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the Phase 13 Selection Post Recruitment Examination 2025 results, declaring that only a small fraction of candidates who applied have been shortlisted to move forward in the recruitment process. Out of a total of 29,39,401 registered applicants, just around 67,500 have qualified for the next stage of scrutiny.
Overview of SSC Results Across Levels
The SSC Selection Post Phase 13 results cover multiple education levels — matriculation, higher secondary (10+2) and graduation and above — each with separate qualification figures:
- At the matriculation level, where 12,09,332 candidates applied, only 17,720 candidates (around 1.5 %) have been shortlisted for further processing.
- The higher secondary (10+2) level saw 7,08,219 applicants, of which 14,768 candidates are now qualified (just over 2 %).
- For graduation and above-level posts, the largest applicant segment — 10,21,850 applicants — yielded 35,055 shortlisted candidates, a selection rate of about 3.4 %.
These results highlight the high competition and stringent qualifying criteria for SSC Selection Post Recruitment, with only a small portion of candidates advancing to the next phase despite the massive applicant pool.
SSC Examination and Challenges Faced
The Selection Post Phase 13 examination was initially conducted in late July to early August 2025 in computer-based test (CBT) mode across various centres for all levels. However, the process experienced several postponements and retests due to technical and administrative issues, leading to delays and rescheduling of examination shifts. These disruptions prompted nationwide protests by aspirants citing glitches, cancellation of test centres and alleged mismanagement.
SSC Normalisation and Qualifying Criteria?
To ensure fairness in evaluation across multiple sessions, the SSC applied normalisation of marks when calculating results. The commission has also fixed minimum qualifying marks based on category for final shortlisting:
- Unreserved (General): 30 %
- OBC and EWS: 25 %
- SC / ST / other reserved categories: 20 %
Candidates who meet or exceed these thresholds and are listed among the top rankings under their respective educational levels have been included in the shortlist published by the commission.
What Comes Next for Shortlisted Candidates?
Shortlisted aspirants will now proceed to the document verification or scrutiny stage, where their eligibility and credentials will be verified by SSC or the concerned departments as per the recruitment norms.
Additionally, the SSC has announced that the final answer key and candidate response sheets for the Selection Post examination will be uploaded on the official portal ssc.gov.in soon, allowing aspirants to review their responses and results in detail. In a separate notification, the SSC clarified that one of the posts — Technical Attendant (Cook) under the Directorate General NCC (Post Code MP10425) — has been withdrawn at the request of the user department and will not be processed further. Overall, the Phase 13 results underscore not just the volume of competition in SSC recruitment but also the selectivity of the process, with less than 3 % of total applicants advancing to the next stage of the Selection Post Recruitment Examination 2025.
