The Staff Selection Commission is expected to release the SSC CGL Mains Answer Key 2026 for the Tier II examination shortly. Candidates who appeared for the Combined Graduate Level Examination (Tier II) will be able to check the provisional answer key once it is made available by the commission. The SSC CGL Tier II examination was conducted on 18 January 2026 and 19 January 2026 at examination centres across the country.
SSC CGL Tier II 2026 Exam Schedule Overview
The Tier II stage of the SSC CGL examination was conducted over two days with multiple papers and skill-based assessments. On 18 January 2026, the Skill Test (DEST) was conducted. The written papers were held on 19 January 2026, covering subjects such as:
- Mathematical Abilities
- Reasoning and General Intelligence
- English Language and Comprehension
- General Awareness
- Computer Knowledge Test
- Statistics
These papers play a crucial role in determining the final merit of candidates.
SSC CGL Answer Key 2026 Release Timeline
As per the standard process followed by the commission, the provisional answer key is released first, allowing candidates to review their responses and compare them with the officially published answers. The SSC has not yet announced an official release date for the Tier II answer key. However, based on previous trends, the provisional key is generally released a few days after the examination.
Objection Process for SSC CGL Answer Key 2026
After the release of the provisional answer key, candidates will be given an opportunity to submit objections against any answer they believe to be incorrect. Candidates will be required to:
- Review the provisional answer key carefully
- Submit objections within the specified time window
- Pay an objection fee of INR 100 per question, which is non-refundable
Only objections submitted through the prescribed online process within the deadline will be considered.
What Happens After the Final Answer Key?
Once the objection window closes, the commission will review all representations. If valid challenges are found, the answer key will be revised accordingly. The final answer key will then be published, and the SSC CGL Tier II result 2026 will be prepared strictly on the basis of this final key.
What Candidates Should Do Now?
Candidates are advised to regularly monitor official updates for the release of the provisional answer key. Keeping login credentials ready will help in accessing the answer key and response sheet without delay. Carefully checking responses and understanding the marking scheme will help candidates estimate their performance before the official result declaration.
