SSC CGL 2025 Tier-1 Exam Day 1 Cancelled at Multiple Centres

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) faced severe criticism today, September 12, as the CGL 2025 Tier-1 exam was cancelled at multiple centres due to technical glitches. The incident has left thousands of candidates frustrated, many of whom have been preparing for months to compete for 14,582 government vacancies.

Widespread Disruptions Reported

The exam, conducted in online mode, was scheduled to begin smoothly. However, from the very first shift, reports of server crashes and cancellations emerged from centres in Delhi, Gurugram, Jammu, Kolkata, and Bokaro.

  • Jammu: SSC North Western Region issued a notice stating that the morning shift was cancelled due to “technical and administrative reasons.” The exam is likely to be rescheduled between September 24 and 26.
  • Delhi: Aspirants reported last-minute cancellations, with no official communication at some centres.
  • Gurugram: A notice confirmed cancellation after technical failures.
  • Kanpur: Candidates reported seat unavailability and server breakdowns.
  • Hyderabad: Students claimed the exam was called off abruptly without prior notice.

Social Media Outrage

Frustrated aspirants took to X (formerly Twitter) to voice their anger, trending the hashtag #SSCCGL.

  • A Delhi aspirant wrote: “Exam cancelled at the last minute in Delhi. We’re just standing outside with no updates. This is unfair!”
  • Another user from Kanpur said: “Server crashed, no seats available. They delayed it and then cancelled. What a day!”
  • SSC mentors from Hyderabad added, “Exam got cancelled out of nowhere. No one told us anything!”
