Southern Railway has released the Act Apprentice Recruitment 2026 notification for 4,471 vacancies. The recruitment is open for freshers and ITI-qualified candidates across various trades.

The online application process started on August 28, 2026. Eligible candidates can apply for the apprenticeship training till September 27, 2026, up to 5 PM.

Southern Railway Apprentice 2026 Eligibility

Candidates must meet the educational and age requirements prescribed for their respective category and trade.

• Candidates applying as freshers should have passed Class 10 with at least 50% marks.
• Ex-ITI candidates should have passed Class 10 with at least 50% marks and hold a valid ITI certificate in the relevant trade.
• Candidates applying for Medical Laboratory Technician trades require Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
• The general age limit is 15 to 22 years.
• The upper age limit is 24 years for Ex-ITI candidates and certain eligible categories.

Southern Railway Apprentice Vacancy 2026

The recruitment covers trades such as Fitter, Electrician, Welder, Painter, Carpenter, COPA and Medical Laboratory Technician, among others.

Southern Railway Apprentice Stipend 2026

Selected candidates will receive a stipend during their apprenticeship training. The reported stipend ranges from INR 8,200 to INR 9,600 per month, depending on the qualification and category.

Southern Railway Apprentice Selection Process

There will be no written examination or interview for the recruitment. Candidates will be shortlisted through a merit list based on their prescribed educational qualification marks. Shortlisted candidates will then be called for document verification.
