The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has published the RRB Group D 2026 notification with a set of important instructions that candidates often overlook during the application process. These guidelines are designed to prevent application rejection or disqualification at later stages of the recruitment process.
Only One Application Permitted
According to the 2026 notification, candidates are allowed to submit only one application for one Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) zone. Submitting multiple applications, whether for the same zone or different zones, will result in rejection of all applications and may lead to debarment from future RRB/RRC exams
Create an Account Details Are Final
The details entered during the “Create an Account” stage cannot be modified later, even during correction windows. This includes name, date of birth, mobile number, email ID and chosen Railway Zone. Any errors at this stage can permanently affect the candidature.
Live Photo Capture Is Mandatory
The RRB has made live photo capture compulsory during the application process — candidates cannot upload previously saved photos. The photograph must be taken using a webcam or a mobile phone’s front camera following these rules:
- Wear non-white, preferably dark clothing
- Do not wear caps, masks or glasses/spectacles
- Face must be fully visible and centred
- The entire face should be inside the camera frame
Photos captured from printed or digital images will lead to summary rejection.
Signature in Running Handwriting Required
Applicants must upload their own signature in running handwriting. Capital letters, block letters or disjointed signatures are not acceptable. The same signature must match across all stages: CBT, PET, document verification and medical examination. Mismatches can lead to cancellation of candidature.
Educational Qualification Must Be Completed
Candidates must have completed the required educational qualifications on or before the last date of application. Those awaiting final results are not eligible to apply, and applications with incomplete qualification are likely to be rejected during document verification.
Strict Medical Standards
The medical standards prescribed for Group D posts are strict. Candidates who fail to meet the required medical category (such as A2, A3, B1 or C1) for the post they opted for will not be offered any alternative posting. Additionally, candidates who have had LASIK or similar eye corrective surgery are ineligible for certain medical categories
Aadhaar/DigiLocker Verification Strongly Recommended
While not mandatory, candidates are advised to verify their identity using Aadhaar or DigiLocker. Verified identity documents help simplify checks and reduce scrutiny at various stages including CBT, PET and document verification. Lack of verification may lead to more detailed examination of identity documents and increased risk of rejection.
