The Government Primary School Assistant Teacher Recruitment 2025 written examination will now be conducted on 09 January 2026, following its postponement due to the national mourning programme announced earlier this month. The examination will begin at 03:00 PM and conclude at 04:30 PM, as confirmed by the Department of Primary Education.
Reason Behind Postponement of Assistant Teacher Exam
The written test was originally scheduled for 02 January 2026. However, the government deferred the examination after declaring a three-day state mourning from 31 December 2025 to 02 January 2026 following the demise of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia. The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education stated that the decision was taken in honour of the mourning period observed nationwide.
Official Confirmation from Education Department
AK Mohammad Shamsul Ahsan, Director (Policy and Operations) at the Department of Primary Education, confirmed that the rescheduled examination will be held on Friday, 09 January 2026. He stated that the written test for Government Primary School Assistant Teacher Recruitment 2025 will be conducted simultaneously across all districts, except the three hill districts.
