Panjab University Tells Affiliated Colleges to Follow Revised Pay Scales

Panjab University has ordered its affiliated colleges to implement revised UGC pay scales for unaided teachers, warning of action against non-compliance. Complaints from faculty highlighted issues with pay and provident fund deductions.
Panjab University (PU) has ordered all affiliated colleges to implement the revised pay scales for teachers on unaided or self-financed posts. The university warned of disciplinary action for those who do not comply.
In a letter sent on Monday, the Dean of the College Development Council (DCDC) said the university had received several complaints from teaching staff and their associations, asking for action to ensure the UGC pay scales and proper provident fund (PF) deductions are followed.
The letter also mentioned that many colleges have not yet applied the revised pay scales, despite previous reminders. It stressed that colleges must handle teachers' PF accounts correctly, following the Panjab University calendar, with deductions based on gross salary, not basic salary.
