The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a strong advisory to JEE Main 2026 candidates, warning them about misleading claims of leaked question papers circulating on social media platforms such as Telegram, WhatsApp, and other online channels. According to the agency, these claims are false, fraudulent, and intended to mislead aspirants during the ongoing engineering entrance examination period.
Social Media Claims Are Fake and Misleading
NTA officials have observed a surge in posts and advertisements on social media platforms that falsely claim to provide “leaked” JEE Main 2026 question papers or exclusive access to exam content. Many such posts request candidates to pay money or share personal details in exchange for supposed confidential exam materials. In its official advisory, the NTA categorically stated that no JEE Main 2026 question papers have been leaked, shared, sold, or distributed on any platform, and that all such claims should be treated as scams. The agency also clarified that question papers are not provided through third-party apps, Telegram channels, WhatsApp groups, or social media posts.
Risks of Engaging with Fraudulent Claims
Students are cautioned that engaging with fake paper leak posts could lead to:
- Financial loss through scam payments.
- Misuse of personal data if sensitive information is shared.
- Exposure to incorrect exam content and misinformation.
The NTA emphasised that such fraudulent content is designed to exploit anxious candidates during the exam window and urged students to remain vigilant and cautious.
Follow Official Sources Only
To ensure accurate and reliable updates regarding the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 exams, including admit cards, question papers, answer keys, results, and other important notifications, the NTA has advised candidates to:
- Visit the official websites: nta.ac.in and jeemain.nta.nic.in.
- Follow official social media handles of the National Testing Agency for verified posts.
- Avoid clicking on unverified links or joining unofficial groups that claim to share exam papers.
Candidates can also contact the NTA for any clarification or assistance through official email or helpline to avoid misinformation.
Exam Security and Conduct
The announcement from the NTA comes amid the ongoing JEE Main 2026 Session 1 exams, which are being conducted securely in multiple shifts till 29 January 2026. The agency reaffirmed that the examination process is under strict supervision and that there has been no breach in question paper confidentiality. Students are urged to avoid rumours and scams and to prioritise preparation and official updates as the exam session continues.
