The National Testing Agency has completed preparations for NEET UG 2026, scheduled for June 21, 2026. Enhanced security arrangements, AI-based surveillance, biometric verification and candidate-friendly facilities have been deployed across examination centres in India and abroad.
NEET UG 2026 Exam will be conducted tomorrow, June 21, 2026, across designated examination centres nationwide. Ahead of the medical entrance test, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that all preparations have been completed and enhanced security arrangements, monitoring mechanisms, and candidate support measures have been put in place to ensure the smooth, fair, and transparent conduct of the examination. The agency has also issued important guidelines for candidates regarding reporting time, admit card verification, and examination day procedures. More than 22 lakh candidates are expected to appear for the country's largest undergraduate medical entrance examination, which will be conducted across thousands of centres under an extensive security and monitoring framework.
NEET UG 2026 to Be Conducted Across 551 Cities in India and 14 Overseas Centres
The examination authority has put in place nationwide arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the exam. NEET UG 2026 will be held in English and 12 Indian languages, allowing candidates from diverse linguistic backgrounds to appear in their preferred medium. According to the arrangements finalised by NTA, the examination will be conducted at 5,440 centres across 551 cities in India, along with 14 international examination centres. The large-scale deployment reflects the extensive logistical planning undertaken for the medical entrance examination.
NEET UG 2026 Security Arrangements Include AI Surveillance and CCTV Monitoring
Following the heightened focus on examination security, NTA has implemented one of the most comprehensive monitoring systems ever deployed for a national entrance test. Multiple layers of surveillance and technology-based monitoring have been established to prevent malpractice and ensure transparency. Each examination room has been equipped with CCTV coverage, while monitoring systems have been linked to national and state-level control rooms for real-time supervision. Authorities have confirmed that AI-assisted monitoring systems will analyse CCTV feeds to identify suspicious activity and strengthen oversight during the examination process.
Biometric Verification and Frisking Measures Strengthened for NEET UG 2026
NTA has significantly expanded candidate verification measures to ensure that only registered candidates are allowed to enter examination venues. Biometric authentication and face verification systems have been enhanced across centres. The examination authority has nearly doubled biometric deployment compared to previous arrangements, reflecting an increased emphasis on candidate identification and examination integrity. Candidates are expected to cooperate with security procedures and arrive at their centres well in advance to complete verification formalities smoothly.
NEET UG 2026 Invigilators, Observers and Security Personnel Deployed Nationwide
Apart from technological monitoring, NTA has deployed a large workforce to oversee examination operations. Every examination room will be supervised by multiple invigilators and support staff to ensure compliance with examination guidelines. The extensive manpower deployment aims to strengthen supervision at every stage of the examination process.
Police, Paramilitary Forces and Indian Air Force Support NEET Logistics
The transportation and handling of confidential examination materials have been supported by multiple government agencies. NTA has coordinated with law enforcement and other departments to ensure secure delivery and storage of examination-related materials. Before the examination, authorities conducted extensive verification procedures at designated storage facilities and custodian banks. In addition, a nationwide mock drill was conducted on June 20, 2026, to test operational readiness and evaluate examination systems before the actual test day. The agencies involved in the logistical framework include:
Candidate-Friendly Facilities Arranged at NEET UG 2026 Examination Centres
NTA has also focused on improving the examination-day experience for candidates and accompanying parents. Several facilities have been arranged to address practical requirements and reduce stress during the examination process. The measures are intended to support candidate comfort while ensuring smooth centre operations. The examination authority expects these facilities to contribute to a more organised and candidate-friendly environment across centres.
- Drinking water facilities available at examination centres
- ORS (Oral Rehydration Solution) arrangements for candidates
- Ambulance support kept on standby for emergencies
- Shaded waiting areas for parents and guardians
- Seating arrangements provided for accompanying guardians
- Wall clock installed in every examination room
- Additional rough sheets available for candidates as required
- Special support and arrangements for left-handed candidates
- Extended time allocated for entry and verification formalities at centres
NTA Advises Candidates to Rely Only on Official Communication
Ahead of the examination, NTA has cautioned candidates and parents against misinformation circulating on social media platforms. The agency has urged aspirants to rely exclusively on official notifications and announcements for examination-related information. Authorities have specifically warned candidates against believing rumours related to question paper leaks or unauthorised claims regarding examination materials. Such misinformation can create confusion and unnecessary anxiety among candidates preparing for the examination. Candidates have been advised to verify any important information through official NTA communication channels before taking action based on online messages or social media posts.
NEET UG 2026 Candidates Prepare for the Final Countdown
With all arrangements reportedly in place, the focus now shifts to the examination scheduled for June 21, 2026. More than 22 lakh aspirants will compete for seats in undergraduate medical and allied healthcare programmes across India. The extensive deployment of surveillance systems, biometric verification mechanisms, trained personnel and candidate support facilities highlights the scale of preparations undertaken for the examination. As candidates enter the final stage of preparation, authorities have reiterated their commitment to conducting a fair, transparent and secure examination process across all centres.
