Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has withdrawn the NEET UG 2025 Round 2 final seat allotment following a discrepancy in the seat data reported by a government medical college. The decision has temporarily halted the ongoing reporting process for MBBS and BDS aspirants. According to the MCC notice, a government institution inadvertently reported double the actual number of seats, which resulted in the allotment of non-existent seats to multiple candidates. Authorities have not disclosed the name of the college involved.
“The competent authority has directed a revision of the Round 2 UG counselling result 2025, which was declared on September 18. The previous result has been withdrawn, and reporting has been suspended until further notice,” the MCC stated. Earlier, the MCC had released the Round 2 allotment after considering grievances submitted by candidates regarding the provisional result. Over 2,400 candidates received upgraded seats, and more than 31,000 students were allotted seats in medical and dental colleges across India.
Steps for Candidates
- Candidates must not report to colleges until the revised allotment is published.
- Aspirants are advised to regularly check the official MCC website, mcc.nic.in, for updates.
- The revised seat allotment will correct the errors in the seat matrix and ensure proper allocation.
The MCC has emphasized that the revision is essential to maintain fairness in the counselling process. Once the corrected allotment is released, candidates will be able to proceed with online self-reporting and college reporting for admission to MBBS and BDS programs.
