The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has issued a revised seat matrix for the NEET PG 2025 counselling, confirming that a total of 28,663 seats will now be allotted through various rounds under the All India Quota (AIQ). This revision comes after the inclusion and withdrawal of seats by medical institutes across the country. According to the updated list, 103 seats have been withdrawn while 6 seats have been added, leading to a final total of 28,663 seats. Initially, MCC had released a matrix with 28,760 seats for postgraduate medical admission under NEET PG 2025.

As per MCC’s revised data, 49 MD/MS seats and 54 DNB seats have been withdrawn due to institutional corrections. Additionally, 6 new seats from private hospitals have been added to the matrix. This adjustment follows inputs from participating medical colleges and universities after verification of seat availability. The final matrix ensures that all seats listed for Round 1 counselling are accurate and verified.

NEET PG 2025 Counselling Round 1: Schedule and Updates
The Round 1 counselling process for NEET PG 2025 is currently underway. Registration began on October 17, and the reset registration window reopened on October 25. The choice-filling process started on October 28 and will remain active until November 5, 2025. MCC has confirmed that the Round 1 seat allotment result will be declared on November 8, 2025. Candidates who receive an allotment must report to their allotted colleges within the specified timeframe.
MCC has also clarified that there will be four rounds of counselling this year — Round 1, Round 2, Mop-up, and Stray Vacancy rounds — to ensure maximum seat utilization.

Candidates are advised to check the final revised seat matrix available on the official website, mcc.nic.in, before locking their choices. MCC has cautioned that once the choice-locking process is completed, no modifications will be allowed. The committee has also directed institutions to ensure transparency in reporting seats and to update any changes in real time during subsequent rounds of counselling.
