Mizoram Education Minister announces common exams for Class 9

The Mizoram Board of School Education (MBSE) will introduce a common examination for Class 9 students starting from the next academic session, aiming to enhance student preparedness for national-level competitive exams such as JEE Main and NEET. The announcement was made by Mizoram Education Minister Dr. Vanlalthlana during a visit to state-run schools in Mamit district.

 

Key Highlights of the Common Exam Initiative

  • Objective: Standardize assessment for Class 9 students and strengthen foundational learning.
  • Focus: Prepare students for national competitive exams and improve academic performance across the state.
  • Implementation: MBSE will coordinate with the State Council of Educational Research and Training to introduce a standardized assessment for elementary and secondary education.
