MHT CET 2027 Exam Dates Revised, Both Attempts After Class 12 Boards

The Maharashtra government has decided to conduct both attempts of MHT CET 2027 after the Class 12 board examinations, according to a report published on October 9, 2026. The MHT CET 2027 exam dates are expected to shift from the earlier December 2026 and April 2027 schedule to a period between March and May 2027.

The decision follows feedback from parents, counsellors and education experts who raised concerns about holding the first attempt before the Class 12 board exams. The revised schedule is expected to give students more time to prepare for both examinations. However, candidates should wait for the official notification from the Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell for the confirmed dates.

MHT CET 2027 Exam Dates: What Has Changed?

The proposed change will affect students preparing for engineering and pharmacy admissions through the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test. Earlier, the first attempt was expected between December 2026 and January 2027, while the second attempt was planned for April 2027.

Under the revised plan, both MHT CET 2027 attempts will take place after the Class 12 board examinations, within the March to May 2027 period. The exact dates for the PCM and PCB groups have not yet been confirmed. Students should use the revised timeline to plan their Class 12 studies and entrance exam preparation together.

MHT CET 2027 Old vs Revised Exam Schedule

The change in the MHT CET 2027 timetable is important for students targeting BTech, engineering and pharmacy courses. Moving both attempts after the board exams could help them focus on their Class 12 syllabus before shifting their attention to entrance exam practice.

The following table compares the earlier expected schedule with the latest reported plan. The revised dates are tentative until the CET Cell releases an official examination timetable.

Why Will Both MHT CET 2027 Attempts Be Held After Boards?

The decision comes after parents, counsellors and education experts raised concerns about conducting the first MHT CET 2027 attempt before the Class 12 board examinations. Students preparing for both exams could face pressure to complete their board syllabus and entrance exam preparation within a shorter period.

Holding both attempts after the board exams may give students more time to revise Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology, depending on their chosen group. It may also help them prepare for entrance exam questions after completing their school examinations. However, the revised schedule does not mean that students can delay their preparation. They should continue studying the MHT CET syllabus and practising previous years' question papers while waiting for the official dates.

How Will the MHT CET 2027 Schedule Change Benefit Students?

The revised MHT CET 2027 exam schedule could help students organise their preparation more effectively. Those appearing for the PCM group can plan their Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry revision around their Class 12 board timetable. PCB students can similarly focus on Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Students planning to appear for both attempts may get another opportunity to improve their performance, depending on the final exam rules. They should check the official notification for details about session-wise registration, fees, score calculation and admission rules.

Candidates should also keep checking the official CET Cell website for the updated timetable, registration dates and other examination announcements.

Where to Check the Official MHT CET 2027 Notification?

The Maharashtra State CET Cell will publish official examination updates through its website. Students should rely on the official notice for confirmed exam dates rather than treating tentative schedules as final. To check the latest MHT CET 2027 notification, visit cetcell.mahacet.org. The official information bulletin will provide details about registration, eligibility, exam dates and other instructions once released.
