The National Testing Agency has issued detailed JEE Main exam day guidelines for candidates appearing in the 2026 examination. Aspirants must follow reporting time, document requirements and conduct rules strictly to avoid disqualification.
JEE Main exam day guidelines are crucial for candidates appearing in the engineering entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency. Strict adherence to reporting time, document verification and exam hall instructions is mandatory to ensure smooth conduct of the test. Candidates are advised to read all instructions carefully before reaching the examination centre to avoid last-minute confusion or denial of entry.
Documents Required at JEE Main Exam Centre
Carrying the correct documents is essential for entry into the examination hall. Candidates must ensure that all required papers are available in original and acceptable format. Before appearing for the examination, aspirants should verify that the documents are clear, legible and match the details mentioned during registration.
- JEE Main 2026 admit card with self-declaration
- One valid photo identity proof such as Aadhaar card, voter ID or passport
- Passport-size photograph identical to the one uploaded in the application form
- PwD certificate, if applicable
Failure to produce mandatory documents may result in disqualification from the examination.
Reporting Time and Entry Instructions
Candidates must report to the exam centre well before the time mentioned on the admit card. Late entry is not permitted under any circumstances. Biometric verification, frisking and security checks are conducted at the centre, and candidates are advised to cooperate with staff and follow all instructions calmly.
JEE Main Dress Code and Prohibited Items
The National Testing Agency has prescribed a specific dress code to maintain exam integrity. Candidates should wear light clothing with minimal accessories. Electronic devices, calculators, smart watches, mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, notes, study material and stationery items are strictly prohibited inside the examination hall. Any violation may lead to cancellation of candidature.
Exam Hall Rules and Conduct
Inside the examination hall, candidates must occupy seats as per roll number allocation and follow invigilator instructions at all times. Communication with other candidates is strictly forbidden during the exam. Candidates should carefully read on-screen instructions before starting the paper and manage time efficiently during the examination duration.
Importance of Following JEE Main Exam Day Guidelines
Following JEE Main exam day instructions is essential to avoid unnecessary stress and ensure fair conduct of the examination. Candidates are advised to stay calm, arrive early and focus on performance rather than procedural concerns. Strict compliance with guidelines helps maintain discipline and ensures a smooth examination experience for all aspirants.
