JEE Main 2026 Attendance Record, Paper Analysis, Answer Key & Result Date

JEE Main 2026 has recorded a historic 96.15% attendance with over 7.70 lakh candidates appearing. The January 23 paper was rated moderate overall, with Mathematics being the toughest section. Answer key and result dates are expected soon.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 examination, witnessing record-breaking participation from engineering aspirants across the country. According to official data, the exam has recorded an attendance of 96.15%, making it one of the highest-attended JEE Main sessions in recent years. Out of 8.01 lakh scheduled candidates, more than 7.70 lakh students appeared for the examination during the initial days. Around 7.40 lakh candidates successfully completed Aadhaar-based biometric verification, ensuring smooth and transparent conduct of the exam. As the examination continues on January 24, 28, and 29, candidates are closely tracking shift-wise analysis to understand paper trends and difficulty levels.

Based on student feedback and expert review, the JEE Main January 23 paper was rated moderate overall, with a balanced syllabus coverage across all three subjects.
Physics
- Difficulty Level: Moderate
- Key Topics: Electrostatics, Magnetism, Mechanics
- Nature: Conceptual and experiment-based
- Observation: Several questions were time-consuming but NCERT-aligned
Chemistry
- Difficulty Level: Easy to Moderate
- Focus: Strongly NCERT-based
- Organic and Physical Chemistry had higher weightage
- Inorganic Chemistry questions were limited and direct
Mathematics
- Difficulty Level: Moderate to Difficult
- Dominant Areas: Algebra and Calculus
- Observation: Lengthy calculations made it the toughest section
- Time management played a crucial role
