NTA to Close Challenge Window at 11:50 PM

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will close the objection window for the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 provisional answer key today, February 6, 2026. Candidates who wish to challenge discrepancies in the provisional answer key must submit objections through the official website before 11:50 PM. To raise objections, candidates need to log in to the portal using their application number and password. The agency has clarified that only challenges submitted online with the required fee will be considered for evaluation.

 

₹200 Fee Per Question; Refund If Challenge Accepted

Candidates are required to pay a non-refundable processing fee of ₹200 per question to challenge any answer. Payment can be made using debit card, credit card, net banking, UPI, or Paytm. However, the NTA has stated that if any challenge is found valid after review, the objection fee will be refunded to the candidate. The agency also emphasised that challenges submitted without payment or after the deadline will not be accepted. According to the official notification, the provisional answer keys, along with candidates’ recorded responses and question papers, have been uploaded to facilitate transparent evaluation.

 

Steps to Challenge JEE Main 2026 Answer Key

Candidates can follow these steps to submit objections:

  • Visit the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in
  • Click on the ‘Answer Key Challenge – JEE Main 2026 Session 1’ link
  • Log in using application credentials
  • Review Question IDs and Option IDs carefully
  • Select the correct option and upload supporting documents
  • Pay the required objection fee
  • Submit and save the confirmation page for reference

 

JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Result by February 12

The NTA is expected to declare the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 results by February 12. Candidates will be able to download their scorecards from the official website using login credentials. The scorecard will include candidates’ percentile scores and subject-wise performance details. Along with the results, the agency will also release the JEE Main 2026 topper list and category-wise performance statistics. JEE Main serves as the gateway for admission to premier engineering institutions including NITs, IIITs, and other centrally funded technical institutions. The exam also acts as the qualifying test for JEE Advanced, which is required for admission to IITs. Candidates are advised to monitor the official website regularly for updates regarding results and further admission procedures.
