ISRO has invited online applications for Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ posts under its Centralised Recruitment Board. The recruitment covers Electronics, Mechanical and Computer Science disciplines.

The ISRO Scientist/Engineer Recruitment 2026 application process started on August 27, 2026. Eligible candidates can submit applications online until September 16, 2026.

ISRO Scientist/Engineer Recruitment 2026 Highlights

The recruitment is for Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ posts in Level 10 of the Pay Matrix. The notified vacancies are tentative and may be changed by ISRO through a corrigendum.

ISRO Scientist/Engineer Vacancy 2026

The vacancies are available in Electronics, Mechanical and Computer Science, including posts under ISRO centres and the Physical Research Laboratory (PRL).

ISRO Scientist/Engineer Eligibility 2026

Candidates must have a BE/BTech degree or equivalent qualification in the relevant engineering discipline. Candidates applying for Electronics must have a degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering, while Mechanical and Computer Science candidates must have the respective engineering degree.

Candidates must have secured at least 65% marks or a CGPA of 6.84/10. Graduation must also have been completed within the stipulated duration of the course.

ISRO Scientist/Engineer Age Limit 2026

The maximum age limit is 28 years as on September 16, 2026. Age relaxation is applicable to eligible Central Government civilian employees, ex-servicemen and PwBD candidates according to Government of India rules.

ISRO Recruitment 2026 Application Fee

Candidates have to pay an application fee of INR 250 along with an initial processing fee of INR 750. Therefore, candidates initially pay INR 1,000.

Women, SC, ST, PwBD and ex-servicemen candidates are exempted from the application fee. The processing fee is refunded to eligible candidates after appearing in the written test, as per the prescribed rules.

ISRO Scientist/Engineer Selection Process 2026

The selection process includes a written test/CBT followed by an interview.

The written test will have two parts:

• Part A: 80 discipline-specific MCQs carrying 80 marks
• Part B: Aptitude/ability test with a maximum of 15 questions carrying 20 marks
• Duration: 120 minutes
• Part A has negative marking of one-third mark for every wrong answer
• Part B has no negative marking

Candidates will be shortlisted for interviews based on their written test performance. The final panel will give 50% weightage to the written test and 50% to the interview.

ISRO Scientist/Engineer Salary 2026

Selected candidates will be appointed as Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ in Level 10 of the Pay Matrix. The minimum basic pay is INR 56,100 per month.

Candidates will also receive DA, HRA and Transport Allowance as applicable under Central Government rules. Other benefits include medical facilities, subsidised canteen facilities, Leave Travel Concession and group insurance.
