 IIT Madras Launches ‘AI for All’ 2.0: Free SWAYAM Plus AI Courses

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has launched ‘AI for All’ 2.0, a nationwide initiative offering free artificial intelligence (AI) courses to school teachers from Kindergarten to Class XII. Delivered online through SWAYAM Plus in collaboration with the IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation, these courses aim to equip educators with AI knowledge to enhance teaching, assessment, and student engagement. Teachers can register for any of the six courses by October 10, 2025, atSWAYAM Plus AI for All Courses.

 

Courses Available under ‘AI for All’ 2.0

  • AI for Educators: Focused on K-12 teachers, covering AI tools and strategies for classroom engagement.
  • AI in Physics: Applying ML and neural networks to real-world physics problems.
  • AI in Chemistry: Designed for UG/PG students and faculty.
  • AI in Accounting: For commerce and management learners.
  • Cricket Analytics with AI: Using AI for sports data analysis.
  • AI/ML using Python: Hands-on course for practical learning.

The courses range between 25 and 45 hours and are completely free, designed to be inclusive for learners from arts, science, commerce, and other streams.

 

Highlights from the Launch

At the launch, Prof. V. Kamakoti, Director of IIT Madras, stated,

 

“Artificial intelligence is reshaping the future of learning, and K-12 teachers play a vital role in bringing this change into classrooms. By equipping them with AI skills, we are not only strengthening education but also contributing to nation-building.”

 

Prof. R. Sarathi, Dean (Planning), IIT Madras, and SWAYAM Plus Coordinator, added,

 

“No prior experience in AI or coding is required. Basic digital literacy and enthusiasm to learn are sufficient. The courses are aligned with the National Credit Framework (NCrF) and employability-focused, involving hands-on activities, real datasets, and case study-based learning.”

 

Registration Details

Teachers interested in joining the program can register online for free through SWAYAM Plus. The initiative ensures flexible learning, practical exposure, and access to expert faculty from IIT Madras.

 

This initiative reinforces IIT Madras’ commitment to AI literacy in schools, enabling teachers to integrate AI tools into teaching, foster critical thinking among students, and prepare them for a technology-driven future.
