IIT Kharagpur will begin IIT JAM 2027 registration on September 12. Candidates can apply until October 12 through the JOAPS portal.
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur will begin the registration process for IIT JAM 2027 on September 12, 2026. The application window will remain open until October 12, 2026.
Candidates seeking admission to postgraduate programmes through the Joint Admission Test for Masters can apply through the JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS). IIT Kharagpur has also released the information brochure with eligibility and application details.
IIT JAM 2027: Key Details
IIT JAM 2027 will be conducted in two sessions across approximately 114 cities. The examination will cover seven papers: Biotechnology, Chemistry, Economics, Geology, Mathematics, Mathematical Statistics and Physics.
IIT JAM 2027 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who have completed a bachelor's degree or are appearing in the final examination of their qualifying degree in 2027 can apply for JAM 2027. Eligible degrees may include BA, BSc, BCom, BStat, BMath, BTech, BE and equivalent programmes, subject to the requirements of the admission programme.
For the qualifying examination, General and OBC-NCL candidates must have at least 55% marks or 5.5 CGPA/CPI out of 10. SC, ST and PwD candidates require at least 50% marks or 5.0 CGPA/CPI. There is no age restriction for appearing in IIT JAM 2027.
Documents Required for IIT JAM 2027
Candidates should keep the following documents ready before starting the application process:
- Class 10 marksheet/certificate showing date of birth
- Recent colour passport-size photograph
- Scanned signature
- Category certificate, if applicable
- PwD certificate, if applicable
- UDID number for eligible PwD candidates
- Valid photo ID details such as Aadhaar, PAN Card, Passport, Driving Licence or Voter ID
Candidates should ensure that the scanned documents meet the specifications prescribed in the JAM application guidelines.
IIT JAM 2027 Application Fee
The application fee depends on the candidate's category and the number of test papers selected.
Candidates can choose to appear for one or two test papers during the application process.
