CAT 2026 Registration is currently underway for MBA aspirants seeking admission to the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and other participating B-schools. IIM Indore opened the CAT 2026 registration window on August 3, 2026, and candidates can submit the CAT application form until September 15, 2026, at 5 PM. The registration and application process is being conducted online through the official CAT website, iimcat.ac.in.

Candidates who have not yet completed the CAT 2026 application form should submit their details, upload the required documents and pay the application fee before the deadline. The final submission requires candidates to preview their application, accept the declaration and complete online fee payment before the 5 PM deadline.

CAT 2026 Registration Last Date: Check Deadline

The CAT 2026 registration last date is September 15, 2026, at 5 PM IST. Candidates need to complete the entire application process, including payment, before the deadline. Simply filling in the application form without completing the fee payment will not be sufficient for successful CAT registration.

Candidates are advised not to wait until the final hours to submit the CAT form because technical problems, heavy website traffic or payment gateway delays could affect the final submission.

The official CAT website confirms that registration started on August 3 and will close at 5 PM on September 15. The CAT 2026 exam is scheduled for November 29, 2026.

CAT 2026 Application Fee: Check Category-wise Fee

The CAT 2026 application fee has been fixed at INR 2,700 for General, EWS and NC-OBC candidates. Candidates belonging to SC, ST and PwBD categories have to pay INR 1,350. The fee is paid online and is non-refundable.

Candidates have to pay the CAT registration fee only once, irrespective of the number of IIM programmes selected in the application form. The available online payment methods include UPI, debit card, credit card, net banking and wallet facilities through the designated payment gateway.

CAT 2026 Application Form: How to Apply

Candidates can complete the CAT 2026 registration by following the official application process. The form contains sections covering personal details, academics, work experience, IIM programmes, test-city preferences and declaration.

1. Visit the official CAT portal at iimcat.ac.in and click on Register under New Candidate Registration.
2. Enter the candidate's name, date of birth, email address, country and mobile number and complete OTP verification.
3. Check the system-generated User ID and Password sent to the registered email address and mobile number.
4. Log in through Registered Candidate Login and click on GO TO APPLICATION.
5. Enter personal details, emergency contact information and communication address.
6. Enter Class 10, Class 12/Diploma, bachelor's degree and other academic details.
7. Enter eligible full-time work experience completed up to July 31, 2026.
8. Select preferred IIM programmes and corresponding interview cities.
9. Select five different test-city preferences in order of priority.
10. Upload the required photograph, signature and applicable category or disability certificates.
11. Click PREVIEW, verify all information, select the confirmation checkbox and accept the declaration.
12. Pay the CAT application fee through the online payment gateway.
13. Submit the form, save the transaction reference number and download the confirmation page.

CAT 2026 Form: Photograph and Signature Requirements

Candidates should pay particular attention to the document-upload section while completing the CAT 2026 application form. The latest live updates state that the photograph and signature should be uploaded in JPG or JPEG format and each file should not exceed 80 KB.

The CAT photograph should have a plain white background, with the candidate's face clearly visible and centred. The photograph should also be recent and not older than six months. Candidates should retain the same photograph for use with the physical admit card on the examination day.

CAT 2026 Registration: Test City Selection Rules

Candidates filling the CAT 2026 form have to select five distinct test cities in order of preference. The same city cannot be selected more than once. IIM Indore will allot the test centre based on the candidate's preferences and availability. CAT 2026 is scheduled to be conducted across around 170 cities with more than 300 test centres.

Candidates should therefore select their test-city preferences carefully and preferably include cities that are convenient for them to travel to on the examination day.
