IIM CAT Result 2025 Expected Soon; Percentile, Cut-off & Score Guide

The IIM CAT result 2025 is eagerly awaited after the Common Admission Test was conducted on November 30, 2025 by IIM Kozhikode for admission to MBA programmes across Indian Institutes of Management and other top B-schools. With the provisional answer key and response sheet now released, candidates are closely watching for the CAT 2025 scorecard announcement, expected between late December 2025 and early January 2026. Pending result declaration, aspirants are already estimating their performance through percentile predictors and expected cut-offs, helping them gauge their chances of securing calls from IIMs.

Expected IIM CAT Result 2025 Release Timeline & How to Check

Before the official IIM CAT result 2025 link goes live, here’s what candidates should know about likely timelines and accessing their results: The exam’s provisional answer key was released earlier in December, and an objection window closed soon after, clearing the way for result finalisation. Based on analysis of past release patterns and official estimates, the CAT 2025 result may be announced around December 19–22, 2025, though it could slip into the first week of January 2026 if there are administrative delays. To check the result once it is declared, candidates will need to:

  1. Visit the official IIM CAT website at iimcat.ac.in.
  2. Click on the ‘CAT 2025 scorecard’ / ‘Result’ link.
  3. Log in with their CAT user ID and password.
  4. Download the result PDF with overall score and percentile.

The scorecard typically includes section-wise scores (VARC, DILR, QA), overall scaled score, and corresponding percentile.

How Percentiles & Cut-Offs Are Calculated for CAT 2025?

Before the result arrives, candidates can estimate their CAT percentile by comparing raw scores with mark-to-percentile conversion models used by predictors. Generally:

  • Around 40–41 marks may correspond to a 99 percentile.
  • Scores slightly lower may align with 95–98 percentile ranges.

Expected CAT cut-offs for top IIMs are typically very high, often around 98–100 percentile, especially in the General category. Cut-offs vary by category and institute, and colleges often combine CAT percentile with other admission metrics such as academic scores and work experience when shortlisting.

What Candidates Should Do Ahead of the Result?

With the result announcement imminent, aspirants should keep their CAT credentials handy and frequently check the official site for updates. Using percentile predictors now can help them anticipate possible outcomes and shortlist MBA programmes accordingly. Preparation for subsequent stages such as Group Discussion (GD) / Personal Interview (PI) rounds should also proceed in parallel for those aiming at top IIMs and B-schools.
