The GATE 2027 application process remains on hold as IIT Madras has not yet announced the revised registration opening date. The official GATE 2027 portal currently shows the registration date as TBA, while the regular application deadline has been revised to September 27, 2026. The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2027 will be conducted by IIT Madras. The examination will be held on February 6, 7, 13, 14, 20 and 21, 2027. GATE scores are used for admission to postgraduate and doctoral programmes, while several Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) also consider GATE scores for recruitment.

GATE 2027 for MTech Admission

Candidates targeting MTech admission should use the registration delay to identify the institutes and programmes they want to target. They can also review previous admission requirements, GATE cutoffs and programme-specific eligibility criteria.

However, qualifying GATE does not automatically guarantee admission. Individual institutes can have their own eligibility and selection requirements.

GATE 2027 Exam Dates

Despite the delay in the GATE 2027 application form, the examination schedule remains unchanged on the official portal. IIT Madras will conduct the exam over three weekends in February.
