DU One-Year Master’s Admission List 2026 Expected Soon, Merit-Based Admissions for FYUP Graduates. Delhi University is preparing to roll out admissions for its newly introduced one-year postgraduate programmes from the academic session 2026-27. The initiative has been introduced as part of the university's implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) framework and is designed specifically for students who have completed a four-year undergraduate programme with a major in the relevant discipline. The university has already issued detailed guidelines for the implementation of the one-year postgraduate structure. With admission preparations underway, candidates are now awaiting the release of the first admission list and programme-wise seat allocation details.
DU One-Year Master’s Admission 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Delhi University has clearly specified that admission to one-year postgraduate programmes will be available only to candidates who have completed a Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP) with a major in the same discipline in which they seek postgraduate admission. Students who have completed a three-year bachelor's degree will continue to be eligible for admission under the traditional two-year postgraduate structure. The university has also clarified that candidates possessing a four-year bachelor's degree with a minor subject may seek admission through the two-year postgraduate pathway instead of the one-year programme.
DU One-Year PG Admission 2026 Merit-Based Selection Process
The first batch of one-year postgraduate students for the 2026-27 academic session will be admitted through a merit-based process. According to the university guidelines, admissions will be granted solely on the basis of merit obtained in the candidate's four-year undergraduate programme. This means that academic performance during the FYUP will play a decisive role in seat allocation. Candidates are therefore advised to ensure that all academic records and marksheets are readily available for verification once the admission process begins.
DU One-Year Master’s Programme 2026 Seat Allocation Policy
Delhi University has introduced a structured seat allocation framework for departments offering one-year postgraduate programmes. Before reviewing the seat distribution model, candidates should understand that seat availability will vary according to the size and intake capacity of individual departments.
