: The CUET PG 2026 exam is being conducted by the National Testing Agency from March 6 to March 27 in three daily shifts. Early student feedback suggests the question papers are mostly moderate in difficulty, while candidates must follow strict dress code and exam-day guidelines.

New Delhi: The Common University Entrance Test Postgraduate (CUET PG) 2026 examination is currently being conducted by the National Testing Agency in computer-based mode at multiple exam centres across the country. The entrance test began on March 6 and will continue until March 27. The national-level entrance exam is held for admission to postgraduate programmes offered by participating universities in India.

 

CUET PG 2026 shift timings

The examination is conducted in three shifts each day, with each paper lasting 90 minutes.

  • Shift 1: 9:00 am to 10:30 am
  • Shift 2: 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm
  • Shift 3: 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm

Candidates are required to report to the exam centre well in advance as entry gates close before the start of each shift.

 

CUET PG Question paper analysis

Based on student feedback and early exam reviews, most CUET PG 2026 papers conducted so far have been moderate in difficulty.

 

For example, candidates who appeared for the Anthropology exam said the paper focused on conceptual understanding and core topics such as socio-cultural anthropology, biological anthropology, and research methods. Similarly, the Applied Geography and Geoinformatics paper included questions from GIS, remote sensing, and spatial analysis, with a mix of conceptual and analytical problems. Each question paper typically consists of 75 multiple-choice questions, and candidates receive four marks for every correct answer, while one mark is deducted for each incorrect response

 

CUET PG dress code guidelines

Candidates appearing for the exam are advised to follow a simple dress code to ensure smooth security checks at the test centre. Students are encouraged to wear light clothes with half sleeves and avoid accessories such as jewellery, watches, caps, or electronic gadgets. Footwear such as slippers or sandals with low heels is allowed Electronic devices including mobile phones, calculators, and Bluetooth devices are strictly prohibited inside the examination hall.

 

Documents required at CUET PG exam centre

Candidates must carry the following documents on exam day:

  • Printed CUET PG 2026 admit card
  • Valid photo identity proof such as Aadhaar card, PAN card, passport, voter ID, or driving licence
  • Passport-size photograph

Biometric verification is also conducted at test centres to confirm the identity of candidates appearing for the examination
