Eligibility Criteria for CTET February 2026

To appear for the CTET February 2026, candidates must meet the required academic and other criteria set by CBSE. Key points:

  • Age limit: No upper age limit.
  • For Paper 1 (Classes 1-5): Candidates should have passed 12th with 50% marks and passed/appearing in 2-yr D.El.Ed or B.Ed, etc.
  • For Paper 2 (Classes 6-8): Graduation + D.El.Ed/B.Ed or relevant education qualification.
  • The CTET certificate has lifetime validity.
  • Relaxation rules for reserved categories apply as per standard norms (though specific percentages may vary; aspirants should check the official notification).

 

CTET February 2026 Application Process

The application process will be conducted online through the official website (ctet.nic.in) of the CBSE. Candidates can follow these steps:

  2. Click on “Apply for CTET February 2026”.
  3. Register with basic details and create login credentials.
  4. Fill out the application form accurately (personal info, academic qualifications, paper choice, exam city etc).
  5. Upload the required documents in the prescribed format (photo, signature).
  6. Pay the application fee and submit the form.

CTET February 2026 Exam Pattern

The exam for the February 2026 session will be held in offline (pen-and-paper/OMR) mode across the country in two papers:

  • Paper 1 for teaching Classes 1-5.
  • Paper 2 for teaching Classes 6-8.

Key features:

  • Each paper consists of 150 multiple‐choice questions (MCQs).
  • No negative marking.
  • Duration: Typically 2.5 hours (150 minutes).
  • Subjects for Paper 1: Child Development & Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Mathematics, Environmental Studies.
  • Subjects for Paper 2: Child Development & Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, plus either Mathematics & Science or Social Studies/Social Science (depending on stream).

 

CTET February 2026 Result and Counselling

After the exam:

  • The result will be released on the official website of CTET.
  • Qualified candidates will be issued a CTET Eligibility Certificate, which can be used for teacher recruitment in central/ state schools (such as Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, etc.).
  • Note: Clearing CTET does not guarantee a job; it only makes you eligible to apply for teaching posts.
