CTET 2026 Exam Day Instructions: Reporting Time, Documents & Prohibitions

The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2026 exam will be conducted in multiple shifts across India on 7 and 8 February 2026. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released important guidelines for candidates related to reporting time, documents to carry and items not allowed at the test centre to ensure orderly conduct of the test.

CTET 2026 Reporting Time and Exam Schedule

Candidates must check the shift timing on their admit card and report to the examination centre well before the scheduled start time to complete all entry formalities without last‑minute hassles. Entry gates will be closed once the reporting time ends, and late entry is generally not permitted. Here’s the schedule and reporting time details as per official instructions:

Candidates must reach the centre at least one hour before the exam start time to complete security checks and seating.

Mandatory Documents to Carry

On the exam day, candidates must bring the following original documents to be allowed entry into the examination hall:

  • CTET 2026 Admit Card — printed copy downloaded from ctet.nic.in
  • Valid Photo Identity Proof (original):
    • Aadhar Card
    • PAN Card
    • Passport
    • Driving Licence
    • Voter ID Card

These documents will be verified by centre authorities before allowing candidates to enter the examination hall.

Items Not Allowed at the CTET Test Centre

Candidates must avoid carrying prohibited items as they will not be allowed inside the centre under any circumstances. These typically include:

  • Mobile phones and electronic gadgets
  • Calculators or smartwatches
  • Books, notes or study material
  • Any unauthorized stationery or electronic accessories

Bring only essential stationery such as a blue/black ballpoint pen, if permitted, and a transparent water bottle, where allowed.

Final Tips for Candidates

  • Carefully verify all details on the admit card — including name, roll number, exam centre address, and reporting time — to avoid confusion on the exam day.
  • Candidates are advised to plan travel early, reach the centre ahead of reporting time, and complete identity verification procedures well in advance.
  • Keep the printed admit card and a valid photo ID nearby for further stages such as counselling or result verification after the exam.

Following these guidelines will help ensure a smooth experience on the CTET 2026 exam days and reduce the chances of last‑minute issues at the test centre.
