The CTET 2026 Day 1 examination is underway on 07 February 2026 in two shifts for Paper II and Paper I. Candidates must follow official reporting times and dress code advice to ensure smooth entry and conduct. Strict instructions for entry, document requirements and prohibited items are being enforced by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) at centres nationwide.
The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2026 Day 1 exam is being conducted on 07 February 2026 across multiple cities in India under the supervision of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Aspirants appearing for Paper II and Paper I must follow the official schedule, reporting requirements, and dress code guidelines for a hassle-free experience.
CTET 2026 Day 1 Shift Timings and Schedule
CTET Day 1 on 07 February 2026 is being held in two shifts for different papers. Candidates should check their CTET admit cards for exact shift allocation and timings.
To ensure smooth entry into the examination hall, the exam halls open at 7:30 AM for the morning shift and 12:30 PM for the afternoon shift — approximately 120 minutes before the start of each session. No entry is permitted once the gates close at the scheduled start time.
CTET Exam 2026 Reporting Time and Entry Instructions
Candidates must report to their allocated CTET exam centres well before the reporting time to complete security checks, document verification and seating procedures. Late entry is strictly prohibited.
- Morning Shift Reporting Time: 07:30 AM
- Afternoon Shift Reporting Time: 12:30 PM
The reporting time printed on the CTET 2026 admit card should be followed, and candidates should reach at least 90–120 minutes before the exam begins to ensure all procedures are completed on time.
CTET 2026 Dress Code and Security Guidelines
CBSE has recommended that candidates follow simple and comfortable clothing to avoid delays in frisking and security checks. Heavy garments or accessories may slow down verification procedures.
Recommended Dress Code
- Light coloured clothes and half-sleeve shirts are suggested for ease of security checks.
- Flat sandals or slippers are preferred; heavy shoes or boots should be avoided.
- No metallic jewellery or accessories such as rings, bracelets, watches and chains to prevent extra frisking.
While CBSE has not enforced a strict uniform, simple attire helps facilitate quick entry and minimizes security delays.
Important Instructions for CTET 2026 Candidates
Candidates must carry the printed CTET 2026 admit card and a valid photo ID proof such as an Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Passport, Voter ID or Driving License. Originals must be presented at the exam centre. Items such as mobile phones, watches, calculators, notes, electronic devices and bags with unauthorised materials are not allowed inside the exam hall. Follow all instructions from invigilators and centre staff to avoid disqualification. By observing these guidelines and arriving early, candidates can ensure a smooth and stress-free CTET Day 1 exam experience.
