The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to open the registration window for the CTET 2025 (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) shortly on its official portal. The examination is scheduled for February 8, 2026 and will cover both Paper I (for primary stage) and Paper II (for elementary stage).

 

CTET 2025: Exam Date, Format and Scope

CBSE has confirmed that CTET 2025 will be conducted in two shifts on the same day, February 8, 2026. It will be offered in multiple languages across 132 cities nationwide. The test will be held offline (pen & paper mode). Candidates will have the option to choose either Paper I (for classes 1-5) or Paper II (for classes 6-8) or both, depending on eligibility and teaching aspiration.

CTET 2025: Eligibility Criteria & Documents Required

The test serves as a mandatory eligibility check for teacher recruitment under RTE and other state education policies. Candidates must ensure they meet academic and age-related criteria as specified in the official notification. Key documents required when filling the application:

  • Valid mobile number and email address
  • Scanned photograph and signature in prescribed format
  • Photo-ID proof (Aadhaar, Passport, Voter ID etc.)
  • Payment details for online fee submission

 

CTET 2025: Application Process Steps

Candidates will need to complete the following steps once registration begins:

  1. Visit the official CTET portal and register using email and mobile number.
  2. Fill in personal, educational and contact details.
  3. Upload scanned photograph, signature and photo ID.
  4. Pay the required fee and submit the form.
  5. Download the confirmation page and keep a copy for future reference.
