CSIR Technician Recruitment 2026: Apply Online for 43 Posts

The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has opened applications for Technician (1), Group-II posts. A total of 43 vacancies are available across different technical trades.

Eligible candidates can apply online from August 18 to September 17, 2026. The recruitment is open to candidates with Class 10 qualification with Science subjects and relevant ITI or trade qualifications.

CSIR has listed 43 vacancies under the recruitment. The vacancies include 19 posts for UR, 11 for OBC (NCL), six for SC, three for ST and four for EWS candidates. Two posts are reserved for PwBD candidates and four carry horizontal reservation for Ex-Servicemen.

CSIR Technician Eligibility Criteria 2026

Candidates should have passed Class 10/SSC or equivalent with Science subjects and secured at least 55% marks. They must also have the relevant ITI certificate or National/State Trade Certificate for the respective trade. Certain trades also allow specified apprenticeship or work-experience routes.

The maximum age limit is 28 years as on the closing date of applications. Age relaxation will be applicable to eligible reserved categories as per government rules.

The applicable fee has to be paid online through SBI Collect.

CSIR Technician Selection Process 2026

The selection process will include application screening followed by a qualifying Trade Test. Candidates who qualify in the Trade Test will appear for the competitive written examination.

The written examination will be conducted through OMR-based or computer-based mode. The detailed examination schedule will be announced by CSIR separately.
