COAP 2026 Counselling Dates OUT, Round 1 Starts May 11

COAP 2026 counselling schedule has been released by IIT Roorkee. Round 1 will begin from 11 May 2026 for GATE-qualified candidates. Candidates must register on COAP to participate in IIT MTech admissions.
COAP 2026 Counselling Dates OUT, Round 1 Starts May 11 for IIT Admissions as IIT Roorkee has released the complete schedule. Candidates who qualified in GATE 2026 can now participate in the counselling process for MTech admissions. The counselling will be conducted through the official portal coap2026.iitr.ac.in. Candidates must register to receive a COAP registration ID for accepting offers from IITs and IISc.
COAP 2026 Counselling Schedule Round Wise for GATE Admission
The COAP counselling process will be conducted in multiple rounds. Candidates will be able to view offers and make decisions within the specified time window. The detailed schedule for main rounds is given below:

Candidates who do not secure seats in earlier rounds can participate in these additional rounds.
COAP 2026 Registration and Eligibility for GATE Candidates
Candidates must complete COAP registration to participate in IIT admission through GATE. Without registration, offers from institutes cannot be accessed. Important points:
- COAP registration is mandatory for IIT and IISc admissions
- Candidates must have a valid GATE 2026 score
- Registration provides a unique COAP ID for decision-making
The GATE 2026 exam was conducted on 7, 8, 14, and 15 February 2026, and results were announced on 19 March 2026.
IIT MTech Admission 2026 Application Dates via GATE
Candidates must also apply separately to individual IITs for MTech admissions. COAP only facilitates offer acceptance. Some key IIT application timelines are listed below:
