CLAT 2027 minimum percentage for UG admission is 45% in Class 12 for General, OBC, PwD, NRI, PIO and OCI candidates, while SC and ST candidates need 40%. Class 12 appearing students can also apply, subject to meeting the qualifying marks during admission.

CLAT 2027 Minimum Percentage and Class 12 Marks Required

The CLAT 2027 eligibility criteria include a minimum Class 12 percentage for students seeking admission to undergraduate law programmes at participating National Law Universities (NLUs). Candidates appearing for CLAT UG 2027 need to meet the required marks in their qualifying examination to be considered for admission.

As per the current CLAT 2027 minimum percentage rule, candidates from the General, OBC, PwD, NRI, PIO and OCI categories need at least 45% aggregate marks in Class 12. For candidates belonging to the SC and ST categories, the minimum requirement is 40% aggregate marks. Students appearing for their Class 12 board examination can also apply for CLAT 2027.

CLAT 2027 Class 12 Marks Required for UG Admission

The CLAT 2027 Class 12 marks requirement applies to candidates applying for five-year integrated undergraduate law programmes through the entrance examination. Students must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board, or be appearing in the qualifying examination during the admission year.

The minimum percentage does not depend on whether a student has studied Science, Commerce or Arts in Class 12. The current CLAT UG eligibility 2027 criteria do not specify a compulsory subject combination for appearing in the examination. This means students from different academic streams can apply as long as they meet the required Class 12 marks.

The category-wise CLAT 2027 minimum percentage requirement is given below:

These marks are the minimum academic requirement for applying to CLAT UG 2027. Meeting the Class 12 percentage requirement does not guarantee admission to an NLU, as candidates also need to secure a competitive CLAT rank and participate in the counselling process.

CLAT 2027 Eligibility for NLU Admission

The CLAT 2027 eligibility criteria are mainly different for UG and PG candidates. For UG admission, the qualifying examination is Class 12, while CLAT PG applicants need a qualifying law degree. The minimum percentage rule discussed here applies to candidates seeking admission to five-year integrated law courses through CLAT UG.

There is also no upper age limit for candidates appearing for the UG examination under the current CLAT eligibility rules. Students should, however, check the latest Consortium notification before completing the application because the final admission rules for the 2027-28 session will be governed by the official information released by the Consortium of NLUs.
