CBSE to Host Live Webcast on Exam Guidelines, OSM

CBSE will conduct a live webcast on 13 February 2026 to brief affiliated schools on Board Exam 2026 guidelines and the On-Screen Marking system. The Board exams will be held from 17 February to 10 April 2026, with nearly 46 lakh students expected to appear.

CBSE to Host Live Webcast on Exam Guidelines, OSM

CBSE will organise a live webcast on 13 February 2026 to explain examination guidelines and the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system for Board Exams 2026. The session is aimed at principals, teachers, and officials involved in conducting and evaluating the examinations.

 

CBSE Board Exams 2026 Schedule and Scale

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the Secondary and Senior Secondary Board Examinations 2026 from 17 February to 10 April 2026.The exams will cover more than 31,000 affiliated schools across India and 26 countries abroad. Approximately 46 lakh students are expected to appear at over 8,074 examination centres worldwide.Given the scale of operations, the Board holds an annual webcast to communicate updated policies and operational measures to ensure smooth conduct at examination and evaluation centres.

 

Live Webcast Date, Time and Platform

Schools have been informed that the webcast will be conducted as per the following schedule:

  • Date: 13 February 2026
  • Time: 11:00 am onwards
  • Duration: Two hours
  • Platform: CBSE’s official YouTube channel (search “BoardExams@CBSE”)

The session will begin with a keynote address by CBSE Chairperson Rahul Singh (IAS).

 

Key Initiatives for CBSE Board Exams 2026

For the 2026 examination cycle, CBSE has introduced three major measures aimed at strengthening transparency and efficiency:

  • Second Board Examination for Class 10
  • On-Screen Marking (OSM) for Class 12
  • Division of question papers in Science and Social Studies for Class 10

The Board stated that effective communication of these reforms is essential for their successful implementation at all levels.

 

Instructions Issued to Schools

Before listing the requirements, CBSE directed all affiliated schools to ensure full participation of staff members involved in exam-related duties. Schools must:

  • Arrange a screen, sound system, and stable internet connection
  • Ensure participation under the supervision of the Principal
  • Make attendance compulsory for teachers of Classes 9 to 12 and evaluation staff
  • Email queries to info.cbseexam@cbseshiksha.in before or after the session

Additionally, each school must upload the following details on the ASAR app (available on Google Play Store):

  • A geotagged photograph of participants
  • Total number of attendees

Regional Directors and officials from Regional Offices will also attend the webcast to facilitate coordination. CBSE expressed confidence that the session will prepare stakeholders for the seamless conduct of the upcoming Board examinations and urged schools to adhere strictly to the scheduled programme.
