CBSE Supplementary Exam 2025 registration for private candidates begins today, 30th May, 2025 as announced by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). This applies to both Class 10 and Class 12 students. Those interested in appearing for the supplementary exams can apply through the official CBSE website.
Notably, Class 12 students are allowed to register for improvement in only one subject, while Class 10 students have the option to appear for up to two subjects to enhance their scores.
CBSE Board Exam 2025: Supplementary Schedule
Private candidates appearing for the CBSE supplementary exams must apply online at the official website, cbse.nic.in. The application window is open from 30th May to 17th June, 2025. As per the 2025 schedule, CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 supplementary exams will begin on 15th July, 2025.
CBSE Board Exam 2025: Eligibility Criteria for Application
CBSE students who appeared for all their exams as private candidates and received a compartment in any subject are eligible to apply. Students who have already passed can opt for improvement while submitting the form. Additionally, the board has confirmed that regular candidates from the 2023–24 academic session are also eligible to apply.
CBSE Compartment Exam 2025: Fee Details
Students applying for the CBSE 2025 compartment exam must pay a subject-wise application fee as follows:
- Private candidates in India: INR 300 per subject
- Private candidates in Nepal: INR 1,000 per subject
- Private candidates outside India: INR 2,000 per subject
Those submitting the form after the deadline must pay an additional late fee of INR 2,000 along with the regular fee. Payments can be made via debit card, credit card, or net banking, as per the official guidelines.
CBSE Class 10 & 12 Results 2025: Overview
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the Class 10 and 12 results for 2025 on 13th May, 2025. This year, the overall pass percentage witnessed a slight improvement compared to previous years.
For Class 12, a total of 17,04,367 students registered, with 16,92,794 appearing for the exams. Out of these, 14,96,307 students passed, resulting in a pass percentage of 88.39%.
In the case of Class 10, 23,85,079 students had registered and 23,71,939 appeared. Of those, 22,21,636 successfully cleared the exams, bringing the overall pass rate to 93.66%.
The CBSE board exams were conducted nationwide between 15th February and 18th March, 2025, with over 44 lakh students participating. Specifically, 24.12 lakh Class 10 students took exams across 84 subjects, while 17.88 lakh Class 12 students appeared in 120 subjects.
